I've created this thread for all of us (including me) who are completely fed up with getting juice in our mouths during vaping.

The problem: Juice in the mouth is the biggest nuisance while vaping. Its an issue that just doesn't go away and after a while can ruin an otherwise good vaping experience.

The solution: I don't have any quick and easy solutions. I am hoping you guys can share any tips and tricks here. Please be specific if the trick is for dripping, cartridges or cartos.

The warning: For the first month I got some juice in my mouth here and there, and it didn't seem like such a big deal, however it gets to the point where it is beyond an annoyance, it can completely throw you off balance and (perhaps you can relate) make even regular hits taste metallic after a while. This is hard to explain but the warning is : learn to deal with juice leaks early on, before you develop a mental allergy to it.

My first tip is: When filling a rubber stopper type carto. Add a few drops then blow a bit down the rubber end. This will cause excess juice to fly out the back. I know this is a waste of juice, but it does prevent any excess juice flying in your mouth.

Couple of ways to avoid this. If you are using a carto (soft tip) or an attomizer then get a drip tip. I prefer the delrin ones as they dont add any real weight tot he ecig, but the solid steel ones work just as well. If you are using a regular atty (510, 901, or 801) and not a carto, then you can also take an empty cart and cut pieces away from the part that sticks down inside the atty to form triangles that point down into the atty. The physics of why it works will likely make your head hurt, unless you are into that sort of thing, so I will not go into it at this point. THere is another thread on this somewhere, but its not easy to find. If i find it I will link it.

EDIT: If you are using a drip tip and still getting juice in the mouth, as I occasionally did, after dripping into the drip tip blow a short but potent burst of air into the tip. If the juice has clung to the bottom as sometimes happens, this will clear it.

I direct drip only now and I use a drip tip. I know exactly how many drops I can put into a dry atty - it's four. It will not flood, will not give juice in my mouth. On average, I get juice in my mouth about once per day, usually because I got over-anxious and refilled before it had quite gone dry. When I used to use cartridges and cartos, I got juice in the mouth multiple times daily, no matter what I did. YMMV of course.

Here is a trick I use.

Using a rubber cover and the rubber tip from a cartomizer with a drip tip.

Put a small hole in the end of the rubber cover, insert the rubber tip from a cartomizer. When the rubber tip snugs up in the end the holes should meat. Slip this over a drip tip, and it works like a juice trap. its easy to remove once it gets a bit moist, and it keeps crud out of your addy and your mouth.

I assumed the problem is that the vapor is condensing on the cooler end of the cart/o's and eventually pools up enough to form a drop that can be sucked in on the inhale. I don't have a fancy trick though, I just dab the tip on my shirt or pant leg. The drip tips seem like a good solution, though I wonder if the vapor could still condense on the mouth end.

Thank you so much for starting this thread. I have this problem all the time....Idk if im flooding atomizers or dragging too hard or what im doing wrong since im a complete n00b to this.....

VaporPhreak I'm having a bit of trouble visuallizing what you mean.....

Pretty sure he means on 510 or 901 cart, you would cut the sides down so the carts ends come to a point, and not a box or half moon shape. It would make sense because liquid will flow and fall from the lowest point of any object, so having a point right above those bridges will stop it from running down the sides of the bridge, and make it flow onto the tip and through it. The science makes sense...good thought vaporphreak

Im surprised noone has come out with a drip tip that funnels down into a cone shape to make all condensation and liquid stay down, or fall BACK down in the atty though. It would be difficult to make one versatile, as all bridges vary slightly, but still. Ive seen the youtube video of the guy that uses a rubber pen cover and shoves the pen top (cone that screws off) upside down into it to make a drip tip with a funnel end that works on that sole purpose. It looked to work rather well.

I know when I first started blowing out attys I was getting alot of juice in my mouth coming through the 2 small holes. I started blowing through a paper towel and that way I wasn't actually putting my mouth on the atty.

I actually probably ingested 10 Ml 24 Mg nic playing around with different cart mods over filling or to loose batting and getting juice on my hands in my mouth, in my eyes. Everywhere.

I'm not going to say it. Ok Drip

Thats another point I would like to make about carts. CONDENSATION. So much condensation if you dont clear it after a drag. To much condensation tastes like fish oil I think.

With a cartridge that has a separate "juice trap" chamber, cut a small bit of blue foam and stuff it in the juice trap and put the top back on. It should be large enough to catch the juice but not so stuffed that is impedes air flow. You can put a bit of blue plug in the end of a cartomizer to catch drips as well.

I pop the top off of the carts and "sling" the device by snapping my wrist over a sink or on the patio. The juice "condensation" flies away. This works for juice caught in carts and cartos as well as a moist atomizer. Just hang on to your PV so it doesn't go flying along with the juice. This gets rid of the extra juice without over-drying the atty by blowing. Please be courteous with your flying juice, LOL.
