To Boost or Buck?

Hello,

I'm Roy from Winchester, KY. I have been reading this forum. I want to build a VV mod, but I have a few questions. From what I can find on eBay the buck boards are cheaper, but you need at least two batteries. The boost boards cost more, but you can get by with one battery and if you ad a battery charging board you can do it all with one box.

My question is what's better to boost or buck?

Stacking batteries is not a good solution AFAIU. Therefore my vote goes to boost, or even better: buck-boost.

Boost. If you build your own coils you can get a resistance so that you won't need low voltage.

Okay, it looks like those that replied prefer to boost. I am currently using 1.8 ohm and 2.2 ohm coils in a KangerTech tank on eGo-T 1100mah batteries. I want a bit more power and a battery that will last all day.

What chip/circuit do you recommend?
