recently went through customs both ways with all of my e-cig accesories.
i put provari, few boxes of cartos, 3-10ml bottles of juice and 1 30ml bottle, backup egoPT, and spare 18650 battery in ziploc bag and put in suitcase.
on the way out of seattle i just left in suitcase that i checked at the check-in counter. i didnt wanna get hassled and have to answer questions at the security screening part. got to costa rica and everything was in suitcase like i left it, yay.
on the way back though, i was regretting leaving in checked bag cause of layover in dallas and not having anything with me. so...when i got to dallas and got my suitcase before i re-checked it (still confused about why retreiving and rechecking bag is needed, they think it might have somehow obtained something while i had no access to it in mid-air? go figure),i took it out and got my fix.
than i saw a security dude with a beagle....sniffing the luggage on the merry-go-round. the genius i am decided to go and ask beagle dude if id get hassled going through with my provari. bad idea!

i asked him if its ok to go through gate with electric cigarette. he said " Electric cigarette!! what the hell is that!?!? i work for agriculture! give me your customs slip! (wich i had in my hand with boarding pass.)
so i gave it to him and he quickly whipped out a green marker and put a big C on my slip.
than he said " they know all about it in customs. go ask them!"
he was far from friendly to say the least.
after that i decided ok....just put it back in suitcase and check it like first time, no more hassle. wrong!
when i went through checkpoint before re-checking my bag, i got sent down a special line...with nobody else in it....lead down a hall where there was 3 security people working with other people. turns out beagle dude marked me for the extra check my bags line. so i had to wait like 45 minutes, until it was my turn to have every single thing in all of my bags dumped out, explained, and inspected, ugh!
nearly missed my connecting flight, the guy who went through all my stuff was cool though, he knew all about e-cig and i didnt lose anything. he explained its best to leave checked because a lot of tsa workers never even heard of it, so they gonna ask at least to explain what it is. with the getting to gate procedure as incredibly ridiculous as it already is...next time i will keep my mouth shut and just go without till i arrive at final destination.
