I'm relatively new to vaping. Recently I have ordered several yummy sounding juices I can't wait to try. I intend on aging the juice however my question is what is the best way to test them out to know when they are ready? It sounds like dripping might be the way to go but I am looking for some advice. Thank you!

It all depends on your needs. People will argue/ discuss the pros and cons endlessly. For me , my preference is a tank atomizer. Large reserve of constant juice flowing, no leaks, etc for hours and at time and easy for driving, traveling etc. Its my basic set up for all day use.

Now, for my NET tobaccos, its another story. NET tobaccos gunk up fast and are not good in a tank. I get barely a half a tank and the coils are crusted and gross and taste , well , its not good. I have a simple , single coil dripper for my tobaccos. I use cotton wicks and as soon as performance and taste drops. Take it apart, throw the cotton out, dry burn ( brush off any residues) and slip in a new wick and ready to go.

Its like the old cigarettes vs pipes. SOme like the fast satisfaction of lighting up and smoking. EASY. Then you had the pipe smokers. Pipes require a bit more work, shorter smoking times. SOme enjoyed the slow, relaxing art of puffing on a pipe.

Tank atomizers more like cigarettes, Drip atomizers more like pipes.

When I was trying all kinds of different juices I used to use an ordinary dripping atty like this one. Put a drip tip on it and you're away. You can flush with water under a tap and flick it dry like a thermometer between juices. Works great, lasts practically forever and it's cheap.

Unless you have a cigalike you can use this kit to get started with dripping, Drippers' Delight. Drip about three or four drops of juice into the atomizer, put on the drip tip and vape. When the taste and amount of vapor diminishes take off the drip tip and drip a couple more drops of juice.

To change flavors take off the atomizer and blow it out from the threaded end into a paper towel. Twist the corner of a paper towel if you want to blot out more of the juice. You can also drip some unflavored juice if you want to clear more of the flavor out.

If the juices are something that might taste good together don't bother cleaning out the atty between flavors.

If you enjoy the taste of dripping you might want to look into doing rebuildables and/or purchasing a bottom feeder down the road.

Some juices are good right out of vape mail so you might want to try any of those that don't smell weird. If they taste good do save a bit to see if you may like the juice even better after it has steeped a bit.

Drip drip drip drip drip drip.....drip some more.....Once you start dripping.....you never go back! drip drip drip drip

No, not really. I think it is messy and time consuming. I use a dripping atty for testing, that is about it. After I am done, I clean it and it goes back in the box.

For something simple to start with, you can try a bridgeless atomizer, like this: 510 Bridgeless Atomizer - Stainless - 2.4ohm

I used to ask myself that question, to drip or not to drip? Then my fiance sent me to the vape shop with her iGo to get the hole drilled out and a matching hole on the opposite side. I bring it home, look at it, decide to tinker with it since I've never made a dual coil setup before. So I got my heathen self to work and when it was all said in done I took my inaugural vape and was sold. I was using my Kayfun 3.1 clone before that, now I've taken her iGo hostage. For pure flavor and juice sampling, you cannot go wrong. Also there's some nice vape production too!

I found a cheap igo l works fine for testing my DIY flavors.

The IGO-L is a rebuildable atomizer rather than a manufactured atomizer that is ready to use out of the package. While the IGO-L is a good beginner device for rebuilding it would be useless unless the OP wants to learn how to rebuild and has the necessary tools and supplies to do so. Also, a rebuildable with a short may kill some devices that new members are likely to be using.

I suspect I will still use a tank the majority of the time. Dripping isn't reasonable for my 45 minute commute but I might use it at home from time to time. I've been reading about the Kayfun tanks and holy crap those are pricey!! I might work up to that after I get everything else down. Keep the drip tips coming it's very helpful!!

x10...you got that right! When I first started vaping(over 3yrs ago)I asked myself, who in their right mind would want to drip. I've been a full time dripper for almost 2yrs now. Yes, even while driving lol. Gets a little tricky sometimes while shifting but no big deal. I will probably get a Reo in the next month or two just to have while driving though. I have a few kayfuns but I just cant seem to get that clean vape from them. Dripping will spoil you!!!

I do have my old joytech ego which I believe has an atomizer on it...will that work? Do I just need a drip tip?

That's what I use. I have a couple drippers but find juices harsh when dripping. Ego cones with the plastic tips taste and hit like a tanked head.

What this guy said. For trying out or switching between multiple flavors, dripping would suit those needs quite well. But if you're content with using the same flavor all day and don't want to constantly fiddle with it, tanks fit that bill. Or you can use both if you prefer. All up to individual needs. I like the pipe vs cigarette comparison.
