Just to be clear, i am not leaving the airport. All i am going to be doing is find the post for my next flight.

I think a lot of you are thinking that i may leave the airport.

I am going to the neighbor country. So far i am still having these mixed reviews makes want to keep the vaping gear in my carry ons and not in my check in bag.

Well, some airports are different. I would just make sure your connecting flight is leaving in the same terminal and that you are not responsible for claiming and transferring your own baggage.
A simple phone call to the place where you purchased the ticket should do to find out the exact protocol of your flight.
Although, something @retired1 told me was "Don't take anything you wouldn't be okay with losing"

So, If you would be really upset about losing it, I would head over and get something you could lose without too much grief, some kinda clone, or something. I know that within the checked baggage batteries have been known to start fires.... so I would be worried about that if I checked it.

http://www.dronethusiast.com/traveling-with-lipo-batteries-drone/

Drones and RC helicopters use the same type of batteries. Read the article, LiPo batteries can catch fire on board planes, so LEGALLY you need to carry it on. the link suggests putting batteries in some type of Battery safe bag, but, on carry on people are able to deal with small fires made by batteries. So the bags are not really necessary, but it is neccessary to carry on, as oppose to risk a fire with the luggage
I would check all your tanks, RDA's and juice, and carry on anything with batteries.
SInce you are only flying out, I doubt it will be a problem.
But if you can, grab a cheap mech clone or something or take a device you dont care about. Then no hassles.
Remember though, Never check batteries. Safety is most important.

I dont know. From the moment you get boarded on the plane till the moment you leave the dubai airport; you get 10 mb worth of data usage via wifi and then you have to pay for 30mb worth of data usage. It is busy a airport so you get disconnected often due to the high traffic. I am not sure if it is good or bad because they are...sort of covering the ends of requirements and the needs of the wifi users. Of course you cant watch the movies and upload the pictures ( i mean you can, but you will need those 10mb,) but you can definitely send messages indicating where you are so your relatives know that you are safe.

Edit: 10mb on the plane, 10mb at the airport

It is not good, it is not bad, it is just there.

Boingo Wireless manages and operates Wi-Fi services at Dubai airport. Passengers are able to receive two hrs of free Wi-Fi access, allowing them quick and easy access to their email, social networks and favorite entertainment content. Users opting for additional time can do so at a rate of AED 29.95 ($8 approx) per day.

That is what their brochure say. But in reality you are allowed maximum of 10mb data usage and you keep on disconnecting every two seconds. So last time i was there i could barely send one message.

flying emirates i have never had an issue with everything completely disassembled and scattered throughout my bags. as others have said its not really the mod but the tank which causes the problem. in my checked baggage i tend to keep a couple batteries as well as both ends of the tank. the batteries i place wherever in the bag but i tend the keep the top and bottom of the tank in different areas. in my carryon i keep the glass cylinder as well as the coil. unless they know exactly what they are looking for its almost impossible to know exactly how everything fits together. and of course i just keep my juice in the same ziploc bag as my shampoo/soap/toothpaste.

Oh; The way I understood it was i must keep the dna200 that has a Lipo pack in my carry on / bag that i am going to take on board, along with juices. I should put my RDAs in my check in bags. I think.

the juice i just keep with my shampoo and such because its convenient. also generally the bottles arent anywhere near large enough for them to cause an issue on carryon though. i just shove everything that can leak in one ziploc bag and call it a day.

as for the mod itself i dont believe those have really ever been an issue in the first place. they are essentially battery packs just like the travel charging pack i have with me for the long flight anyways (i never trust the chargers on the plane).

the important thing IMO is to have the tank completely disassembled and spread across checked and carryon bags so that you are making it as unlikely as possible that the people scanning them will realize what it is.

I find the internet fantastic at the airport. Every time I am there my kids are non-stop playing games or watching movies/episodes ~ no issues with speed or video quality. And I visit Dubai every 5-6 months.

I'll try it with my tablet this time. Last time it was a laptop and it was really hard for me to connect. Lets see if anything has changed.

Truth be told. Not sucking up to anyone but it is a blessing to have a luxury of wifi because i know some airports still dont have it and it is a major pain not to have any source of contact unless you are willing to pay for it. So i didn't mean to offend anyone when i said it was hard for me to send a single message last time i was there.

I was more concerned about taking my vape gear through dubai airport as i have a connecting flight the only conclusion i found was i will put my atty in the check in luggage and the dna200 mod with Lipo in my carry on. Since i won't be leaving the airport anyways.

It is still 60 mins at the airport and it would connect the first time but then it will not work, it will disconnect. It will keep on disconnecting and connecting while not working. The timer screen will keep a count down doesn't matter what's happening. Bottom line; the Wi-Fi at the Dubai airport is bad.

I've not been to Dubai, but elsewhere I've found it is a good idea to have everything in carry-on. It's easier to get through security when they can tell what the weird electronics are for. In fact the only times I've been stopped for a search is when the atty has not been on the mod. When I've forgotten and left the two attached, even though that's liquid outside the ziplock bag, I've never had a problem.

One thing that did strike me this last time was to put the DIY liquid in checked baggage. Everyone knows that if liquid explosives were going to be carried on-board they would be in a shampoo bottle, but the security guy may still balk at an unlabeled bottle of viscous fluid.

Viscous, nicely-smelling fluids that is :D

Thanks for this thread, folks. Hoping to see Dubai one day in the not too distant future. Sometime next year hopefully. Either way - thanks for some nice general tips for flying with e-cigs; which I honestly have never done before. Planning to flee to warmer climates (hopefully) most of this winter. No further than southern Europe and maybe Morocco initially, tho.

the reason why it is recommended that liquids be placed in checked baggage is because of that very reason. liquid explosives are more unstable than their solid counterparts (ie. dynamite vs nitroglycerin). you would need to mix the nitro just prior to being used. that would be impossible to do mid flight in a checked bag. however in carry on you could do it with ease. it would also be impossible to mix beforehand because it would probably detonate before you handed the bag to the person at the desk. on the other hand you can play flag football with sticks of dynamite without a need for concern. the example here is probably the most extreme example i can think of. another layer of protection is the size of the bottles. this is why there are often container and overall liquid amount limits placed.

vaping is a big community here in dubai. the only thing is selling of juice or devices are banned. but you can get what you need here. Social media is a good place to start for all your vaping needs.
