To tank, or not to tank

OK, I've spent the last several hours reading about tank-o-mizers and I am still on the fence about it all. Seems like most folks are comparing the tanks to dripping and I never did understand what the big deal was with that anyway.

Currently, I am using a vGo clone and the E2 cartos (standard and XL) with a drip tip in place of the soft rubber end. Tried the cart thing and wasn't impressed. Tried the drip thing, and I don't know what all the fuss is about. Absolutely dislike LR atomizers (Cisco) because they are too hot.

So, how do these new tank systems stack up against E2 cartos?

I posted a review on my new tank system. Personally I think it's an entirely different taste and flavor you get using the tanks. I ahve had no problems at all thus far. I don't care what you use for filler if you use cartos you're going to get SOME flavor distortion. (don't believe me? take some poly fill and shove it into a straw and drink something) I think you get a more pure flavor from the tanks and that's from someone who has been vaping for a year

I went to the ego tank because I was sick of filling my others with juice every few minutes. I hate the white fuzz filler with a passion and was making do with foam for a while. Dripping kind of sucked because it was not possible while driving. After getting the t set I am exclusively using that instead of my others. I don't need 5ml of juice because I rotate often and this just seems to work best for me.

I never met an E2 carto that worked out of the box. They all required serious cleaning and dry burning before I could even use them. And they are a PITA to refill. My eGo-t atties and tanks worked perfectly out of the box.

Not much difference between tanks or janty xl 1.8ml cartos for the ego tbh imho.

Only differences are

tank holds less juice

Carto more of a pain to fill and swap juices

tank gives about 10% more flavor ime

less leakage and more juice mileage with xl carto

carto more compact

carto better and looser draw imo

these are tiny little pro and con differences which will mostly depend on what you're after and the main differences being

slightly better flavor on tanks

better draw on carto

carto slightly pita due to syringe filling

carto holds more and more compact (2 piece rather than 3)

mostly a toss up between flavor / ease of fill / draw / juice mileage

I prefer the carto if i just want one flavor all day as it is simply more compact and no leakage whatsoever and doesn't need to be in a pouch whereas tanks DO leak when i'm mobile, carried in pockets)

prefer tank if i want to swap flavors duiring the day (carry prefilled spares in pouch with rubber caps on end, whip one out, pop on cap taken off new tank on old one and pop on new tank and voilla....) as no way would i want to be syringe filling several cartos with diferent juices, as i hate hassle.

Dripping on an attomizer and the Tank is not really a good comparison except maybe in taste. With the atty and drip tip you are constantly dripping about 3 drops every couple of minutes, or so and with the tank you fill it and insert it and vape until its gone, which could be a day, or so depending on how heavy you vape..I use multiple devices and usually have 3 around me at all times. a 6v, Tornado-T, Mega Ego, and X-power 900

Who says dripping and driving isn't possible? Lol I do it from time to time, but make sure I'm stopped when I drip. I usually have 3 pv's ready to go though.

I think the tank is a ...nice product for people who want it but, I can get boge carto's holding 1.5ml and use them on any device not just ego's, and/or the bloog/nhaler new kr808's...the nhaler one holds 3ml so its basically the same as a tank...as far as capacity but I can get it at 2.0 ohms.

The nhaler jumbo kr808 cartos hold 2ml: KR808D-1 JUMBOCARTOMIZERS -or- KR808D-1 Jumbo Low Resistance Cartomizers (2 Ohm)

I get through a full day on 1-1/2 kr808 cartos, so I don't see the need for the tank, and I don't need the size of the eGo battery when I'm at work or out and about. 808 batteries are 3.7V; the eGo is 3.2V. 808 cartos are less than $2.00 each, while the tank atty is ~$16. I can refill 808 cartos again and again, and when they get nasty, I toss them. I don't really want to toss a $16 atty for the tank system, so then I'm back to cleaning it, boiling, alcohol, dry burns, etc. Its just not for me.

Also, the reviews I've read note three major cons of the tank: leakage, diminished taste, and increased juice consumption.

Here is my issue with these Ego tanks, there making them from a cheap plastic, I taste the plastic every once in a while which means I'm vaping it. plastic this close to the heating element isn't good and we know this. I really would like to see a better material used for these Ego tanks, like a stainless steel, Pyrex, ceramic, some kind of safe material, safer than what there slamming down everyone's throat with this cheap plastic so close to the heating element. I think this system could really be great if they made this move and along with a little bit bigger of a tank, say 3ml's worth of juice. that's my rant and I' sticking to it about this system, no byproducts in my vape, or as little as possible, just a nice clean vaporized liquid that taste great !

Is there really a noticable differance between vaping on a true 3.7v device and the ego...? I'm really curious about this. If there is a differance, HOW would you FULLY describe it in as exact detail as possible for those of us thinking about buying a true 3.7v batt to try it out....

I agree somewhat about XL cartos and wonder why they are often so overlooked. My one and only gripe with them is that I have to have a syringe to fill them lol. Haven't tried the condom fill method yet as worried it might bugger up the atty.

But then as I mentioned earlier, tanks ARE good for if you want to change flavors. Take out tank, quick blowout of old juice if you really feel the need, put on rubber end cap and pop in another tank with different juice in and barely any cross over of flavors. With cartos that would mean syringe filling several cartos for me which would be a royal pain in the posterior.

Tanks do run through juice stupidly fast, they really do. Absurdly fast if you ask me.

But they do ime give 10% - 15% MORE flavor than my Jany XL carto.

Really small toss up between the XL carto and tank sytem for me.

I don't know all the details of how a difference in voltage translates vs. the resistance of the atty, etc., but I started out with a 510 starter kit and an eGo starter kit, so I know the eGo 3.2V experience. I now use a KR808 variant (Bloog) with cartos. The only real comparison I can make is that the 3.7V of the 808 gives a "warmer" vape, and to me the vape feels a lot more analog-like. I cannot use my 510/eGo stuff now. It's just not as satisfying, by a long shot.

You do not need a syringe to fill the cartos I use. They have a pop-off silicone "drip tip". You can actually drip them (in small amounts), and when you need to fill them you just take off the tip and drip 20-25 drops into the carto, let it sit for about 15 minutes, and it's ready to vape. I have cartos that are on their 8th or 10th filling, and they're like the day I opened them. As soon as one goes a bit nasty, in the trash it goes -- they're only about $2.00 each. I don't even own a syringe.

My mom got a tank in last week. I thought I was going to order one too, until I realized I wouldn't be able to do all the flavor mixing I do. I may drip a couple of drops of menthol and a couple of drops of cinnamon, and the next time use something totally different. It works for her because she doesn't have to fool with the dripping, but I don't think I would like it too much. Guess it's all in personal preference.
