To the MOD Gods, Touch switch question

I want to make a touch switch. I was looking at the schematic and it shows an IRL3103 but can I use this one MOSFET IRF510 Transistor - RadioShack.com instead? Thanks

This has been asked before. The IRF510 doesn't work for some reason. I can't remember without looking it up, but I believe it has something to do with the gate threshold value.

if you have a frys electronics or a Newark distributer local they have what you need...and an onsite EE to answer questions usually...just don't make it a habit...they tend to get antsy when a novice hits em with 20 questions...
