Why was I not present for this! LOL, I realize until time travel is achieved it's not technically possible BUT STILL.:D

The closest I ever came was picking up a soda can that had become an ashtray, in college. I was hung over. LOL, IT WAS SO AWFUL.

To this day, I exercise care when approaching an unknown beverage. I mean I swallowed a .....

But, this sounds way worse. LOL.

Happened to me too in college.. Me and my friends often share snacks and beverages and its cool. One day, I went to my friends' table in the canteen and having seen them with some toasts and coffee in the table, I immediately took some and drank on the half empty cup of coffee and told them we only have few minutes left and we're heading to the lab. They were just looking at each other while I drank the warm coffee empty!

Until one of them broke the silence "alright, let's order some food, what do you want?"

If I were to enter a situation where I couldn't smoke or vape for long periods (I may be about to) I would use either Sweedish snus or nic salt pouches (maybe with some WTA added to the pouch).

Honestly I kiss my husband all the time and did so when I was 100% vaping and he wasn't and it didn't gross me out.

To be fair, it wasn't like AN INCENTIVE, but I have always and firmly decided that I would NOT shame, avoid, or be repulsed by a loved one's smoking, because frankly, well, I was a smoker BIG TIME and none of my family (smoking or not) ever was mean to ME about it, and I was a very heavy smoker.

I think those comments, well, I love a person based on who they are, not whether they smoke or not. Etc. It's just... Not so great IMO although I do know there are those who get "sensitized" to smoking, stale or not. I just decided not to BE that person. Etc.

Very nice sentiments. I agree. Only once did I have a fairly serious issue. A guy I was dating for a while told me he could really see our relationship going somewhere if I didn't smoke. I was super offended and told him he knew very well that I smoked before we got together and I ditched him. He wanted to get back together and I said no way. I thought what next, my clothes, loud :) personality or ?.

Whether it was bad for me or not, I was not about to acquiesce to someone making those type of demands. And even though I no longer smoke it is not a deal breaker for me. I really live by the golden rule -- treat people the way I want to be treated.

If my so still smokes - it is fine with me. Thankfully he does not.

I suppose that everything that makes the world better can be an alternative to smoking. Even more, everything that does not fully eliminate smoking but reduces its adverse impact also can be considered as a good alternative. Vaping non-tobacco containing e-cigs is not safe but still safer compared with smoking.
One more thing to emphasize, smoking is expensive. It is better to spend this money on the family or beloved ones rather than kill yourself slowly.
