Yeah, I started smoking because I really liked the smell of a burning cigarette/tobacco when I was a kid, and when I smoked my first at 14 that was it for me. I really enjoy it which is why the fruity flavors and things like that don't appeal to me too much. I was just looking at Alice in Vapeland like not even ten minutes ago. I'll probably order some things from there tomorrow while it's open since people in the e-liquid forum were saying they were very good quality.

Parkes vaping is where I started. I think they have more tobacco flavors than anyone.
They offer sample packs & many of their flavors have reviews.
I found Ashtray along with Wyatt Earp & something like Dark Vapour to be very close to a analog.
At least you can try a sample pack without breaking the bank.

I have since then found that unflavored nic is about as close as it gets.
My ADV's now include Boba's Bounty [Alien Vision or AVE] along with unflavored & for a bit of a change up, Cinnamon Roll from Mt. Baker.

Good luck & hope you find something you like.

Maybe something else to keep in mind is that as you get away from the cigs your taste buds are gonna start reviving and your sense of taste could change dramatically. Things that taste good now(cigs) may taste wretched in as little as a couple days away from them. Things that taste bad now might really be great after your tongue gets back to the way was originally meant to be. Just a thought.

wildxcard, I think you are on the right track with trying to stick with tobacco flavors out of the gate. I followed this same methodology and was able to successfully kick the analogs (former 1 pack a day Marlboro Lights).

Over time, you're taste buds will change, and you'll be more open to other flavors. Me, 2+ years off the analogs and I still vape 18mg tobacco flavor regularly (my all-day vape is Heavenly Tobacco by Heather's Heavenly Vapes). I find that fruit/candy flavors just don't satisfy me as much as good, hearty tobacco, and that's okay... everybody is different.

You asked if vaping = smoking...yes and no. Vaping can satisfy, but not with the same technique as smoking, even with high nic juice. Suggested reading, that helped me when I first started: User technique - ECF InfoZone

Finally, if you completely stop smoking and switch 100% to vaping, I'd like to warn you that you may get cravings for a cigarette at about the 3-4 week mark. There are other alkaloids besides nicotine that are addictive, but not for everyone. This happened to me, and kicked my .... for a few days. Good news is that they these cravings do pass pretty quickly, and once you're through them, there's no looking back!

Try Heather's Heavenly Vapes. Her tobaccos are really good and are natural tobacco extractions. Her prices are very reasonable too.

Some people move away from tobacco flavors when vaping but others are diehard tobacco fans. For a beginning vaper I think it's always a good thing to be able to find a tobacco flavor that comes close to scratching the smoking itch.

From what you have posted I think you are probably going to find something that will satisfy you by staying in the naturally extracted tobacco lane to find a tobacco vape. You might want to peruse the Natural Tobaccos - Part Deux thread and ask questions there.

Another place to try is the Ahlusion E-juice thread. They are the grandaddy of NETs and have a large selection. There are tons of tobacco enthusiasts that post on that thread. Also, the thread is not a vendor sponsored so the discussion there is very honest and open. You will find that very experienced people who really know their tobaccos in both the NET and Ahlusion threads to be hospitable and welcoming to new vapers.

AiV is an excellent vendor and they offer small sample sizes. That would be a good place to try some non-tobacco vapes.

When I started vaping I wanted nothing to do with tobacco flavors, thinking it would make me want a cigarette. Once I was done with cigarettes for good I started trying different tobacco flavors, and have found NET's to be really good and satisfying. I've tried a few different vendors and all the NET's are quite good. Don't limit yourself to just cigarette tobacco flavors, I was not big cigar or pipe lover, but there are some really good ones out there. There is always a juice out there that will get you off cigarettes, you will find it.

Banana nut bread sounds really good. I am just really worried that if I don't get a tobacco like taste to start with before I begin weaning down my Nic level, that I won't make it past a couple of weeks. I'm a terrible chain smoker and unfortunately in a disgusting, unhealthy love with the analog flavor.

I suggest looking for flavors that have good throat hit.
I love mistereliquid neptune. The throat hit reminds me of a cigarette,
Read reviews and look for the key words, great throat hit.
Also i reccomend atleast 18mg nic. Anything less wont be enough.
And higher pg than vg.
