Hi folks, Duane here. I've been vaping for about 7 months now, and just started to get interested in DIY. I mainly gravitate towards tobacco and RY4 type flavors. In the past I was a professional cook and for a few years a bartender, so mixing flavors kind of seems pretty natural to me. Since beginning vaping, I have been mixing different pre made juices together to alter them a bit. I decided to get a bunch of stuff for a just in case scenario, and then it hit me...why don't you just make your own juice now! Duh!
So in came my first order of 6mg/ml-50/50 and some 555 and American Blend from Mt. Baker. First thing I did was to vape a clearomizer of unflavored juice to get a feel for what the base flavor is. I was a little bit surprised that it did in fact have a distinguishable flavor. Then I shot a 30ml batch of each flavor at 5% flavoring to get a feel for the taste, and to sample and vape while they steep to observe any changes. Both flavors are vapable, and even pleasant at that level, but since I have been doing some reading and found some more economical ways to test for flavor ( small batch testing). Still, it will be fun to observe any changes that I can detect as they age. So...
I am leaning towards doing a batch of each individual flavor that I have coming, and take notes and observations. Then possibly combining different ones at that stage to determine how they play together to see if I want to pursue a recipe chase on a combination.
Here's my list of incoming flavors:
Mt.Baker
555
American Blend
Peach Tobacco
Toasted Almond
The Perfume Apprentice
DK Tobacco Taste
RY4-Asian
RY4-double
Cinnamon Sugar Cookie
Belgian Waffle
The Flavor Apprentice
Desert Ship
Virginia
MTS Vape Wizard ( not sure on who makes this modifier)
Kentucky Bourbon
Marshmallow
Hangsen
Arabic
Desert Ship
Golden VI
SE Tobacco
Virginia
MFS Tobacco absolute
I mainly use an 8mg/ml juice and settled on a 50/50 base and nic carrier.
Any suggestions from you pros out there on a 2-3 part mix ( ie which ones will compliment each other), or possible other flavors to add to my arsenal would be greatly appreciated. I've been looking up tobacco related threads, and will continue to do so...I can see that a whole bunch of 6ml containers may be in order

Thanks in advance for any advice
