I surprised myself witha tobacco relapse after 3 months on e-cigs. Got a shipment of juice which just tasted awful (cloying sweet and almost rancid) when i had let my prefered juice (double mint) run down too low. Hit a rough spot at work home etc and grabbed a pack of newports.

can't say i like the taste or the smell better and the aftertaste sucks.
but the rush and the craving are much more intense and gratifying.

i feel like i now have two distinct addictions. Tobacco and ecigs. Y'all who have gone back on (and off tobacco) got any tips.

I feel pretty much like i need to gear up for a "quit" just as i did in the old days when i tried to set down tobacco. Earlier this year it was easy because i was so pleasantly surprised by e-cigs.

now that i have relapsed i wonder what other folks experience around going on off tobacco is? (for the relapsers here--not y'all who picked up the e cig never looked back and hate smoking tobacco)

Alot of people around here still have a smoke now and then. Its tough to not grab a cigarette. Especially a Newport. :D

My advice: Get yourself some decent juice as fast as you can. If you aint feeling satisfied by ecigs, try bumping up your nicotine. Get an idea of what kind/flavor of juices you want and go check out the review section. You'll eventually find juices that please you. Just don't give up.

And don't beat yourself up for the relapse. Its not the end of the world. Instead, think of all the analogs you DIDN'T smoke because you choose to vape instead. Think about the positives and move on.

I agree---don't beat yourself up about a relapse! For me, it's like losing weight. I was off work for more than 3 years due to medical problems, and was on steroids for the entire time. I gained almost 150 lbs during that time, and have lost 65 of it so far since going back to work. I'm on a fairly strict diet (self imposed), but every once in a while I revert to my old habits.

I've found that I can get back on track if I don't start feeling sorry for myself and justifying the relapse (s). Same thing with vaping-I've bought 2 packs in the past 3 weeks, but I've noticed that my bank balance is increasing and that really keeps me motivated.

Next week I'm going to upgrade my Blu-Ray player with the money I've saved, and have already started thinking of what I'm going to reward myself with at Christmas. Maybe a new laptop to replace this dinosaur I'm typing on right now.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, find a reason or goal to help sustain your commitment, don't give up because it's the easier path.
