I'm only a few days into vaping, but I went straight for the sweet flavours. I didn't even glance at the tobacco options. I have a pretty big sweet tooth though.... I just don't know that a tobacco 'flavour' would be that great on an ecig, especially when there are soooo many options to choose from!

EDIT: I'm totally going to look for the magically delicious juice. That sounds amazing.

I also tried a tobacco and strawberry with my first e cigs. I ended up loving fruit flavors way more. if I had just tried tobacco I don’t think I would have ended up a vapor. I started with fruit flavors heavily. Now I find my self vaping tobacco with a light sweetness flavors for my all day vapor and fruit for my treats. But if I get low on liquid and only have enough for a bottle I find my self going back to grab the fruit and sweet flavors first before the tobacco. I think when I stopped smoking analogs my taste changed a lot in general.

Hi, I am in the Nashville area also. There is a Tennessee thread here that in the last two pages of it lists at least 3 or 4 vape shops close to you that you can go and try the juices to find flavors you like before you buy them.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tennessee-vapinteers/229015-nashville-vapers.html

The thread is not as active as I thought it would be. There is also a link to a Facebook group that has meets. I don't do Facebook so you will have to check that out.

I started a little over 2 weeks ago and got a bunch of different juices from several vendors. I found my favorite is a tobacco with some sweet in it. That's what did it for me. The sweets and coffees and fruits I can only vape for a very short period of time, not all day.

I find it fasinating that it seems to be so different for so many people, some tobaccos work, others the sweets and fruits. It is wonderful to have so many choices. Good luck and welcome to ECF. Check out that thread and your local vape shops. If you can find a few you really like you will end up saving a lot of time and money on your juice hunt.

Thank you! I will definitely check that out.

I prefer a bit of both personally. Although none of the tobacco juices taste like a real cigarette (to me anyways), I find some of them are actually quite delicious, RY4 being my personal favorite that I've tried so far. I haven't tried too many fruity juices yet, but so far so good! I got my hands on an amazing strawberry juice. I'm pretty new to vaping myself, so I haven't tried too many flavors, so after time I'm sure I'll discover my preference.

I'm actually a big fan of tobacco flavors. I like the aroma of a fine cigar. I like the smell of a fresh bag of high quality pipe tobacco. My quest was to find the most aromatic, best tasting tobacco flavor and I probably went through 15 bottles before I finally found what I liked.

Johnson Creek's Domestic and Tennessee Cured are outstanding. Good vapor, great throathit and wonderful aroma.

Dekang's Desert Ship is always in my rotation. Definitive Turkish blend flavor.

Backwoods Brews Honey Flue Cured is just the right sweet, blonde pipe tobacco flavor.

Dekang's Cohiba smells and tastes like an unlit Honduran (not a Cohiba, but still).

Fruity flavors don't impress me. But I do have some baked goods, coffee, candy and chocolate flavors that I really like.

I vape almost anything but tobacco, though I do have one for when I want a good "neutral". I just sent out for a few more sweet tobacco juice samplers, so hopefully that will help steer me away from so many fruit and candy flavors.

(I'm working on my diet and need to cut out sugar... I find that vaping sweet flavors helps me avoid sweet candies, but occasionally, all that sugar makes me wish for something a little bit more "traditional". I have a sweet tooth from hell but do enjoy a bit of earthy flavor, too.)

I started with both, thinking that I would be all tobacco- but much to my surprise, the tobacco flavors are almost all off-putting to me, but the fruits and desserts really spoke to me. I too thought that I went backwards, but hey.. it's keeping me off analogs.. at this point, I prefer vaping over analogs.. they really do taste like crap in comparison

Tobaccos are tricky but awesome if you like them. I'm a bourban/scotch drinker so the natural tobacco flaves are perfect. Especially after dinner. It's been said many times here but bears repeating. Tobacco flaves generally mimic the smell of a freshly opened pack of cigs and not a burning one.

RY4's are not created equal. I've had some terrible ones and some mind blowing ones. ivape's RY4 is my personal fave. Just the right mix of earthy tobacco and a touch of caramel/vanilla. It's not as sweet as other ry4's I've had but is absolutely divine on my personal palate.

I like a little flavor in my tobaccos. Like vanilla, cherry, and caramel. But I want the tobacco flavor to be the dominant one and not the other way around. I just ordered a sixpack sampler from Vermillion River. I'm dying for it to get here. I've heard so many good things about their tobaccos.

On the flip side, fruits and candies are probably my least favorite. Most straight fruits are just too cloying and not very complex to me. I get bored with them within a half tank but I can totally see why people are addicted to them. Bakery stuff with fruit undertones work really well with me. Apple pie and banana nut breads are a great way to wake up and go to bed.

Any flavor that you can vape a tank start to finish and be happy with is worth buying a big bottle of. I've found maybe 1 in 5 that I try to be worthy of a big bottle.

Hi everyone, this is my first 'new thread' post so if I'm not doing things by the SOP, please forgive me. :( I started vaping just 2 weeks ago, and much to my surprise, I was not that interested in finding a good tobacco flavor. The fruity mixes, chocolate, Lucky Charms, and sweeter juices are what kept me off analogs. Has anyone else found this true, or was it easier to stick with vaping the tobacco flavors when you first started? It seems so backwards to me :)

There's a Standard Operating Procedure here?

Uh oh.

;)

Me, I found that the "good tobacco flavor" was quite the snipe hunt. I found one tobacco... ish kind I like but even then only once in a while. And with so many options available, why try to duplicate smoking? I mean smoking is... regular and menthol. And that's it. No real variety.

I think a lot of us start out believing we want the same, exact, familiar experience (maybe it's comforting, you know, what we're used to) but doesn't seem to take long to realize there's hundreds (!) of flavors out there to explore and it's a lot more fun than having "my brand" and the same taste day in and day out, puff after puff after puff...

Is it pretty common for people getting into vaping to want flavors other than tobacco? I'm getting ready to order and was initially looking for some tobacco flavors, but don't want to waste money if I'm going to dislike it compared to a fruity flavor.

The hardest part about vaping is that you will never know what you like until you try it. I've been severely disappointed with things I just knew I would love and shocked to love things I though I would hate.

Tobacco'ish flaves can be very complex and tasty. By complex I mean that you can't put a finger on all the things you are tasting and not complex like you have no idea what your are tasting. A good RY4 is a great get your feet wet tobacco'ish flavor.

Get lotsa of sample sizes of anything that sounds like you might like it and work towards finding 3 flavors you can do for extended periods of time. That's probably a good goal for any new vapor. Having 3 big bottles of stuff you really like is very reassuring. Especially after you load a tank of dirty socks.

I have at least 15 little 3-6ml bottles that I pretty much hate. I'm glad they aren't 10-20ml bottles. I'm sure everyone has a stash like that or much larger. lol

Thanks for the advice. Had kind of overlooked the idea of getting a bunch of sample bottles to try. Have any recommendations on a good sample size supplier? And is RY4 the name of a flavor, brand, or style of juice? Thanks! I appreciate the help :)

RY4 is like the grandaddy flavor of vaping. The short easy answer is that it's tobacco'ish w/ vanilla and caramel notes. The problem is everybody does it different. iVape is the best for me personally but even some the chinese varieties like smokeless image's volt ry4 are excellent. There's a big thread on ry4 somewhere on the forum. Just search for it.

Some of the premium juice vendors have nice sample packs. This is important because they are expensive to buy a 10ml+ bottle that you can't stand.

I have been looking for a Marlboro flavor since I started 2 months ago and have still yet to find it. I did find that a mix I came up with has been the closest so far. You can go to Indy's Premier Vapor Shop - Best Stock - Best Variety and get their 24mg USA mix. Then go to Best Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquid - MyFreedomSmokes.com and get their Carolina Tobacco (24mg). In an empty bottle and with a standard syringe with needle, put 3 syringes full of one, 3 syringes full of the other all in the same bottle. SHAKE WELL. I tell everyone this. No matter if you are mixing or not before you fill your clearomizer shake your juice bottle very well. Squirt some in your clearomizer and enjoy. I found this by accident. Now my favorite juices: Pina Colada, Pineapple, Juicey Grape, Strawberry, Cherry, Watermelon is the BOMB (taste like a Jolly Rancher), dbl Chocolate and Dark Chocolate.
