I can't screw it onto an SVD because the threads don't seem to catch. It makes contact (despite receding the pin all the way) and goes all the way down so that its base is flush with the SVD, but it pops right off. On the other hand, it screws perfectly onto a K-100 mech. All my other toppers from clearomizers, AGA-T, Fogger, Igo and trident drippers screw on both the SVD and K-100 just fine. What is also odd is that an old 510 extender I have screws fine onto the KFL, but doesn't screw on to the SVD. So my question is this, did I get a KFL with defective 510 connector threads, or is there something I don't know about different 510 thread widths out there? Otherwise, this tobeco KFL clone is excellent.

You bought a Chinese made replica of a really good RBA. The Chinese are known for their quality in manufacturing replicas as well as really high machining standards.

Not surprising at all. In other news you can buy another one with the money you saved, just like the one you bought. It will be slightly different.

Disclaimer: I have nothing against clones and own some.

That was my first thought, and still the most likely, but it doesn't satisfy me, given the circumstances I describe.

I've had the same type of problem before and it's slight variations in both the pitch of the threads and the diameter of the units. The hard part is figuring out what to do, because there's a good chance that if you got another kfl, it might do the same thing.

All I can tell you is that my tobeco fits four different battery devices in the same way as my other devices. That is, they all screw on very wobbly until they tighten up. I don't know if comparing the wobble on the different units would tell you anything or not. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I got 2 kfls from ft and one had bad threads and wouldn't thread onto anything.
The threads were large.
Good thing I happened to have a 510 tap and die set for such occasions.
I just chased the threads real quick and all was well.
You can get the taps and dies on amazon.
Not too much $ and handy to have on hand.
I believe the size is 7x.5mm, but don't quote me on that.
