Tobeco CAN put out nice quality items - I received mine from 101Vape as well and mine is great.
Quality control is Tobeco's issue. Yours looks like machine tooling beyond its usable life.
They've been cranking those Aquas out like crazy.

Will 101Vape take it back? Or do they consider that normal?

There is another model being sold at fasttech that comes with silver plated pins, hybrid connector pin, second drip tip and those coveted red o-rings (ooo). Not sure of the manufacturer yet - but it looks promising (cost a bit less than the Tobeco model).

hcigar models listed on Ebay too.

You're right, Tobeco certainly is capable of putting out quality products- my KFL from them is pretty much top notch. I think that their production of these aquas is at such a high rate at the moment that things are slipping through the cracks.

I haven't contacted 101vape about this. As it is, the thing is usable and honestly produces a great vape so I can look past the defects this time. I worked as a quality engineer at an automotive manufacturer for 2 years so I think I'm especially sensitive to these types of defects and due to the fact that it is a functional piece I didn't think they would take it back.

I'll be looking into those fasttech and eBay options though!

My 101vape aqua is good quality. Beautiful topper. Chimney threads are wobbly when juice control is open. I tuned mine for closed chimney juice flow and it is near wobble free. My biggest complaint is fidley refill. I built mine single coil to increase vape time. Great pocket carry for short trip to store. For longer trips I use IGO-F (can drip blindfolded) and glass tank toppers (can drip blindfolded as well).

If I can find a silicone plug I'd like to drill a hole in top for easy fill.
