Left-handers adjust more readily to seeing underwater.

Left-handers excel particularly in tennis, baseball, swimming and fencing

Left-handers usually reach puberty 4 to 5 months after right-handers

4 of the 5 original designers of the Macintosh computer were left-handed

1 in 4 Apollo astronauts were left-handed - 250% more than the normal level.

Left-handers are generally more intelligent, better looking, imaginative and multi-talented than right handers - based on discussions among members of the Left-Handers Club! :)

Who else is in their right mind?

i had fun with this today at work, lots of jokes about leftys...When I was a kid in the late 50's early 60's it wasn't so fun. One teacher in particular made me feel awful for being lefthanded. She put a big 'X' in the palm of my left hand and made me stand out in the hall for hours.
My Mom fared worse in school, a teacher slammed her face into the slate blackboard, breaking her nose! And she was just a little girl :(

one day my dr. told me AMA study said righties live longer than lefties. i told him they had to scrap the whole study because so many lefties in that age bracket were forced to be right handed.

btw, a very special shout out to my 3rd grade teacher for pointing my left handedness out to the entire class by saying we were once considered to "be in league with the devil"! not at all traumatic...

I had no idea that there were so many left-handed people in the V4L forum and all I can say is - eww ... gross! Truth be told, there are only two types of people that I can't stand in this world; left-hand people and those with red hair.

Okay, settle down people ... I was just kidding. I actually like people with red hair.

I'm a lefty with a red-headed daughter

Left handed, but adjusting to a right handed world has made me more proficient with my right hand with a variety of tasks. Scissors, right handed. Writing, left handed. Fielding in baseball (when I still played), right handed. Batting, left handed. Pretty much anything that is designed for one handedness or the other (guitar, baseball glove, scissors) I learned to do right handed. Anything that can be used with either/both hands (piano, baseball pat, pencil) I stuck with being a lefty.

Rats, I missed our special day!
I am left handed, though I play a lot of sports right handed and am fairly ambidextrous. My husband is a total lefty, not at all ambidextrous, and our daughter is completely right handed.

The reason left handed people don't live as long is that the world is set up for right handers and therefore lefties have more accidents.
