I received the Joye 510 starter kit yesterday. My first confusion: the cartridges that came attached to the 2 atomizers were empty. There were 5 additional cartridges filled with some sort of filter substance.
My questions: Am I supposed to add juice to these cartridges?
Did they come with juice already in them?
Can I keep adding juice to the same cartridges dripping it onto the same filler material day after day? .... or do I need to change the filler? When do I need to dispose of a cartridge?

Also The juice I ordered with the kit is 24mg tobacco flavored. It is way too strong. Although I smoked 2 packs a day for 40 years, I smoked ultra-lights and only smoked half of each one. What strength do I need to get? Thanks for helping me figure this out!

I also started out with 24mg, thinking I would need the highest strength option. I later found that 18mg is plenty for me.

There is a lot to read about filling cartridges. Sounds like you have blanks. Yes - you will add juice to those. Take the filler out and put 10-15 drops in, then replace the filler. Add more drops on top until it is all well saturated. Add drops on top as necessary when it dries out.

But do some reading. Search for cartridge filler.

The ones that come on the atomizers are basically place holders. You can't add filler and vape with them. (Someone pointed out to me that you can hold them up and see light through them. The ones you use have an inner lining.)

Don't throw them out. At some point you may want to try dripping and you can use them for that (or buy drip tips.)

If all you have is the 5 pre-filled carts, it's time to go liquid shopping. As a cartridge dries out (you've vaped all the liquid), you add more. There's always a little left behind so you can combine flavors, change the filler and use the same cart for a new flavor, buy some extra carts (<$5 for 5) or switch to cartomizers. (As long as you have a couple of atomizers already, I'd say buy some liquid and a pack of carts. You can try cartomizers later after you've gotten you money's worth out of the attys.)

There are quite a few good liquid vendors here. I'm a fan of Tasty Vapor. Start by telling us what type of flavor you'd be interested in and people will make recommendations (e.g. tobacco, menthol, fruit, dessert, coffee...)

ETA: You can buy USD Glycerine or Food Grade Propylene Glycol and use it to cut your liquid. You will dilute the flavor somewhat at the same time but at least you'll have something to vape until you find what's best for you.

As others have mentioned, you can easily add juice to your cartridges. One thing you will want to do after a few fills is rinse out the filler. After that it will tend to ruin the flavor and will not work as well to deliver the liquid. Just remove the filler from the cartridge with tweezers or a paper clip and rinse it under hot water. Dry it thoroughly on a paper towel and put it back into a cartridge that you have already put juice in.

Cartridge filler mods can be found here. The Blue Foam Dart mod is my favorite so far.
