Todays Shut down

I have one request, feedback, or Help thought.
Instead of leaving 95% of the vaping community running around trying to figure out what's going on. Whether it's their PC, the servers, or a corporate take over. Couldn't one of the moderators that know post a message about it on the ECF Facebook page? Just an idea.

I freaked a little, then loaded another website. I've been through server meltdowns on another forum and knew we'd be home soon enough.

Maybe the mods didn't know but are you going to tell me the largest ecig forum on the internet doesn't have one person that knows whats going on that could have the courtesy to inform it's subscribers why they can't log on? What would that take, all of 2 minutes on the ECF Facebook page?

That was very nice of Old Soldier but I don't frequent his chat as I'm sure many don't.
I figured it was the servers but there were so many rumors going around that it was making me think other things.
I guess I'd better keep a closer watch on Old Soldiers chat site.

Bloody Hell, I Thought That All 3 Of My Computers Were Getting Axed!!!

Did anyone else notice that ya could get in the first time through your Favorites and the minute that ya went to do anything on the Forum, ya would get thrown out and the wrong site address was assigned?

It was also happening through All Of The Search Engines too, except ya never did even get in!!! It would immediately direct ya to either the wrong site address and ya couldn't access the Forum at all, or did the Forum end up changing their site address because it was listed in the Search Engines the same way but couldn't find the site??? Now the ECF site address is shorter. The first word in the address has now been shortened from electronic to only e, or was it always like that and our Favorites and All Of The Search Engines had the wrong addresses??? It's all so confusing...

Well thank goodness it's over. It's happened before and it will happen again but this time the rumors as to the reason why made me think it was kaput for quite a while.

I'm really glad to see that everything is up and running now... although I only got a couple of email notifications, and now nothing...

Whatever happened I figured that it saved me some money since I wouldn't be obsessively reading reviews of new thingymajiggies. So after a few attempts I got to take the day off from the ECF. But I did think that I had somehow managed to get myself booted for some unknown reason and was ready to apologize to everyone here so that I could get back on and read my reviews of new thingymabobs.

Sorry, but that site is bogus. It seems to just ping the server at that url; I just tried it for a couple hardware sites I know to be down and it says they are up. I would bet that for much of the downtime that site said ECF was up, too.

The site (ECF) is going to go down. The computer I'm on right now is going to go down. ECF (as far as I know) isn't a business; bringing the site back up may have required people taking a vacation day, or not getting to enjoy that vacation day, or in Angus' case not getting to enjoy the first half of his birthday. I don't think it's appropriate to be upset with the team. They did a good job getting this big ol forum greased up and rolling again

I apologize to everyone because we didn't do very well yesterday. Lots of things went wrong at the same time, basically. An unusual set of failures at the website hosts, plus I was ill and Angus the Forum Manager was off, and we didn't have a way to recover from that.

Facebook and Twitter updates are an excellent way to keep people in the loop, we will now find a way to get those done even if some staff are out.
