Toking technique

Total noob here. A few times I've got a bit of liquid on my lips whilst toking (I've been vaping heavily since I got the pipe a few days ago, honestly don't even want a cigarette anymore), I'm wondering if pushing the button say, half a second before toking, and realeasing half a second after I've had a drag, will stop this?

I've also noticed it only really happens when the liquid is starting to run out, as I've just topped up and it hasn't happened since.

Thanks

Hi,

Welcome to the forum. I am not sure what you mean by pipe, as far as what kind of device you are using. Since you mentioned that it occurs when the atomizer is about empty, I am going to assume that you are referring to some type of tank system, probably a Kanger product. Flooding the atomizing chamber when the tank is nearly empty is not uncommon at all, especially when first learning how to vape. There is a learning curve with vaping than with smoking. The best advice is to notice when you are nearing the point when this happens and 'top off' the tank before that point. Good luck and have fun!

Thanks!

It looks like this

Congrats on the switch and welcome to ECF :)

I'm pretty new too and not sure if this is a full or correct answer, but the hot liquid drops I've gotten in my mouth have seemed to all come from tanks with the atomizer/coil near the top (CE4's, CE5's, iClear16). My tank with the atomizer in the bottom (Kanger T3S) doesn't seem to have that issue.

It also seems to happen more when the tanks are flooded and making that gurgling sound, which makes sense I guess. Depending on which kind of tank you have I think there can be ways to keep them from flooding as much - for the tanks with the atomizers on top that I mentioned above you just don't want to fill them too high (keep the liquid below the spot where the wick goes in to the central cylinder)

Ahh you posted the pic while I was writing the last post. Yeah for those tanks you don't want to fill above where the wick goes in or it'll flood.

Ahh I suspected as much, that's why there's a line there.

Kind of stupid, because the guy in the shop filled it up for me

I'll be buying all my gear online from now on!

I'm sorry. Hopefully if you bought it from a Vape store, they know how to vape and properly care and maintain their own and their customers devices....

Never tried the top coils but the bottom coils have never given me a problem yet....although i've been only vaping evods for 5 days lol

Yeah, I've done both and MUCH prefer the bottom coils. Dry/burnt hits were a way of life until I discovered bottom coils. I'm really liking my Kanger mini-Protank 2.
