Thanks for all the cheers! Everything is working perfectly but I do have some questions, of course. I have been using Blu and various other ecigs for the last week or so while waiting for my kit to arrive. I believe those are 18 mg nicotine, just the gas station version. I ordered liquids in 12 mg strength with the Halo kit and am experiencing some coughing and can feel a pretty hard throat hit. Should I step down to 6? Before switching to any ecigs I smoked about a pack a day, Misty 120s which are considered "light". Any help would be appreciated, not giving up, just gotta find my path! Thanks!

Make sure you're not pulling too hard. Mouth inhale first. You don't have to lung inhale to get the nic, but if you want to (I prefer it) make sure to take a small draw, mouth inhale, then lung inhale

Were they the Blu disposables? The other non disposable I think top out at 16 nic. You're going to see a difference in the vape production from those, regardless.

Plus, Blu uses Johnson Creek juice, which is 100% VG, whereas Halo uses a blend of VG/PG ( vegetable glycerin and propylene glycol). The PG is known to have more "throat hit.". Also, some people find they have sensitivity or even allergies to PG.

If it's just coughing, you may need to adjust your vape style. Don't inhale straight into the lungs. Inhale into the mouth and then into the lungs once you have all the vapor in your mouth.

I found the blu to be a weak vapor producer compared to the g6. It's going to take time to get used to.

I think you guys are right - probably my technique. The blu disposables are shaped like a regular cigarette, no mouthpiece. I think I am hitting too hard - backing off is working much better. I'm on the learning curve! It's so great having others who have been through it! Keep the tips coming, I appreciate it so much!

Three months and four days since my last cigarette. Over three thousand cigarettes not smoked... closer to four, actually.

That's a big deal to me. Huge. I smoked for about twenty years.

Point being, we've all come from smoking... We all want to see you succeed. I think any of us would be happy to help you overcome any roadblocks or anxiety or confusion or being overwhelmed...

Because it's worth it to see someone else give up the habit.

So, how do you like it? Quality, fit, finish? I told you!!! (in that other thread)

What juice are you vaping? And yes, technique is key. Halo sometimes makes me cough as well.

Take a slow hit, just fill your mouth. Then either release or slowly into your lungs. and exhale some through the nose as well. Most vaped nicotine is absorbed by the mouth and nose.

And this next part is hard, so listen. Take 4 or 5 breaths between vapes! Sip some water. Vape for 10 minutes or so, then PUT IT DOWN for a while. Cig nicotine hits inside of 15 seconds. Vape nicotine takes 1.5 to 2 minutes. So, allow time for it to work.

You have 2 tanks, maybe something less harsh and or 6mg nic in the other?

And we can see your smile from here!!!

You are now truly Halon!!!!!

Congrats to you!!! And yes, you are coughing cuz with Blu, after about 4-5 draws, the batt/volts drop quick which requires you to draw harder until the dang thing doesn't even hit well anymore.

With Halo or any other higher end Ecigs, you don't need to draw so hard. Also, like others said, it's a different technique versus a plain ol' cig. You want to take nice, long slow drags, hold in your mouth and then either lung inhale or blow out. Having nic fits will make this hard cuz ur craving nic but you will get it, just not the same quickness as with cigs.

Keep us posted on how it's going and I may have missed it but what flavor did you choose??

You guys are doing nicely,''bringing her over to the other side''! I was talking to a lady that said she tried to vape, but didn't like it cuz it made her cough so bad. I explained this very thing to her, and now she wants to try again. It shocks me to think just how hard we were sucking on those stinkies, compared to vaping. Guess that proves that cigarettes really do suck! lol :vapor:

When I got my g6 last year I used it for a few weeks then stopped. At the time I'd rather have a real cig. After smelling someone vapin at the dog park it got me wanting it, that and having a kid. I coughed hard with every hit I took, but it went away. Now you won't see me without my triton.

HEAVEN, THY NAME IS HALO!!!! OMG, I GOT IT!!!! You guys were right, it was definitely my technique. I was pulling way too hard, hitting it like I was on a two minute smoke break! The proper technique makes things so much different ... enjoyable and down right LEISURELY! (Is that a word???) I haven't coughed ONE TIME since I slowed down. It is fanFRICKINGtastic! Exceeded my expectations by leaps and bounds. Thanks so much for the tips and walking me through everything. I promise to pay it forward and help others the way you have all helped me. I am so impressed with the Triton, I can't even tell you. The batteries must have been fully charged, I used the same one for about 4 hours, then as Dave suggested, went ahead and put it on the charger. The next battery is what I am using now and it appears to have a nice charge, too. Those were both 650s, and I haven't even touched the 900 Mah yet. That's really impressive since they've been in the freezing cold for six days now. I warmed them up and they fired right off the bat. I just love the Iridescence color I chose, too. Instead of one solid color, I got all my favorites in there! Up close you can appreciate all the shades of blue, purple, magenta, green and yellow - but from a distance it looks totally different, almost a solid navy blue. How'd they do that? And it feels really good in my hand, the button is right where it needs to be. I think everything about it is "just right"! What a relief, I can work on the QUIT instead of being frustrated with the DEVICE! Thanks again, you guys! I can tell you really care and want to help people stop smoking. I wish I had known about this sooner, but I am not going to look back. Thanks you, thank you, thank you!

So happy for you!!! And yes, it makes quitting so much less stressful when you start off with easy to use kit that you have nothing to worry about except just vape!!!

I know when u were in the new members forum asking about different devices, others said egos, EVod and so forth. Although not huge differences in beginner kits, Halo, IMO, just outshines them in ease of use and less hassles.

Now after your taste buds calm down, the fun part of trying juices comes next! Also, drink LOTS of water when you vape. It does dry you out and you may experience a lack of taste periodically. Don't worry if this happens, it's normal!

Welcome to the Nation, newest Halon member!!
