I've done a whole lotta rebuilds on my ViviNova tanks. One thing that I have noticed is that more wraps give a warmer vape and more flavor, but clog up and decline in performance faster.
I started out with a 4/5 wrap of 32 gauge kanthal which worked "just okay". And then began progressing to more and more wraps as I found they were giving better performance. I even pushed the limit to a 9/10, which was a trick in itself to make it fit in the limited space of a Vivi head. The vape was really warm, with exceptional flavor, and thick vapor production. It was checking in at about 3.9-4.0 ohms resistance, pushing my Provari to the limit of its voltage capabilities. But, it only worked well for about 4-5 tankfuls before the performance fell off like a blind roofer.
Upon dismantling it I found that the spaces between the coils(about one wire's width) were literally filled solid with gunk. The only obvious solution to this dilemma is to increase the spacing, which as we know is not possible with the limited space provided.
So, I set forth on finding the best possible combination of wraps and spacing. After considerable research I have arrived at a 6/7 wrap. Which provides improved performance, acceptable longevity, and ease of installation.
I use 32 gauge kanthal and a 4-40 machine screw to create the coil. Then I compress the coil from the ends to tighten up the spacing a little so it will fit. Next i pull two 1.5mm wicks through with a beading needle. Finally topping it off with another 1.5mm as a "flavor wick". It usually checks in at around 2.8-2.9 ohms.
This setup seems to be the best that I have been able to come up with so far.

I'd like to hear any thoughts or ideas on how other's do their rebuilds on ViviNovas, what works the best for them, and why.
