Well This is not as easy as I thought it would be,Did about 5 attempts to recoil a vivi nova head using cotton(maybe not the best choice to start with)But I am basing what I thought easy from The Pbusardo you tube video. It is very hard to wind the coil by hand and it always seems wider than the space provided, and everything is hard to see that small,Cotton is soft and that makes it worse,I got low ohm readings of 0.1 or readings of 3.0 and it fluctuated all over the place. I did a wrap around a nail and pushed the coils together which looked nice and smaller and pushed a small and pointy cotton wick made from cotton balls through the coil and it worked, got a reading of 2.4 ohms filled the tank and primed the coil pushed the button and the coils glowed,Then it just died.I also bought some cheese cloth but didn't use it yet.Don't know, very frustrating so far.

Using 32 kanthal

take the wick material and a toothpick or paperclip, then wrap the coil around them, check the spacing and remove the pick this helps you twist a perfect coil while leaving the right amount of room inside the coil for the wick to expand.
maybe that will help. i do not do nova heads but this is how i recoil a wick for my drippers.
