Hey ECF,

Brand new to the whole scene here. Been lurking for awhile trying to get information about everything.

I have so many questions that need to be answered, if someone can just link me to somewhere for all the info or just answer it for me. Would be greatly appreciated.

I am completely new to the whole vaping scene and want to get into it. I need to kick an old habit out and in with a new.

I have been reading a lot on starter kits for new users and have been looking into an eGo T or eGo C. It seems like this is where everyone points a new person to.

QUestions: Do batteries need to be replaced often?
Atomoziers, Clearomizers, or tanks do they get replaced? and if so how often?
How long can a kit survive for until being replaced with a brand new one?
How long do juices last if im vaping around 2-3 hours total in a day?

Thank you. Please feel free to add information i need to know about vaping as a newb. Thanks ECF

Hi and welome!

The answers to your questions aren't simple. A "kit" is made up of different components, so one thing is that you won't have to replace a kit with a brand new one, just different pieces.

A battery in a eGo type device supposedly lasts for roughly 300 charges. How long it runs on a charge depends on the size of the battery you get.

Atomizers, clearomizers and tanks are all different types of delivery systems. There is no "how long do they last" answer. How long do oranges last compared to apples? They are both fruit, but beyond that...

How much juice you use, depends on how much juice you use. It's something you find out for yourself. You may vape one flavor all day or switch around between several. I think a rough average is people vape about 3-5ml per day, but everyone is different.

Batteries: Sometimes you'll get a dud that doesn't last more than a month or so. I've got some that are over a year old and still going.

Attys, Clearos, tanks, cartos, like batteries, some will last longer than others. Eventually they will have to be replaced.

Most do not replace a kit, unless they're upgrading to a superior device. Just replace whatever needs replacing.

Liquids come in different size bottles, and different people vape different amounts. You won't know how much you'll use until you start. It's always good to have more than you think you'll need.

It's always good to have backups for the backups. Batteries, chargers, liquids, cartos, attys, etc.

I'd recommend a Joytech eGo Variable Voltage kit. That way you can find you're vaping sweet spot, using the variable voltage.

QUestions:

Do batteries need to be replaced often?
ego batteries generally can be recharged a total of 250 times; after that they will begin to not take a charge and must be replaced.

, Clearomizers, or tanks do they get replaced? and if so how often?
Clearomizers and tanks (either cartotanks or Vivi nove tanks, they are different) can be refilled multiple times. The heating coils in the heads of clearomizers eventually stop working and must be pitched. Some of the newer clearomizers can have these heads replaced with new ones (rebuildable) to increase their usefulness.

The same holds true with the clearomizer tanks, or Vivi Nova tanks which literally are giant clearomizers Their heating coil heads will eventually wear out and can be replaced with new one available from a vendor.

Cartotanks are an entire different animal. The tanks themselves can last indefinitely, but the cartomizers in side of the (with the heating element) must be replaced when flavor becomes muted or taste like "a sock".

I guess you are talking batteries here. The batteries can be used as long as they are effectively taking a charge, answered above.

Some new vapors will want to explore more powerful devices like the advanced personal vaporizers, otherwise known as "mods". These use smaller replaceable, rechargeable batteries within a durable battery holder. Depending upon the quality of construction, these battery holders or "mods" can last years. The batteries that these use typically last about 1 year.

Never tried to look at it in that way. We typically quantify juice consumption by the mililiter. Average daily consumption is around 3-6 ml.

i was just mainly wondering if i stuck to one delivery system, will i be spending a bunch of money replacing them over lets say a 6 month period.
I would recommend trying 2-3 different juice delivery devices to see which I preferred before settling on one in particular.

Once you have your primary batteries, and a backup battery, and your charger; your monthly expenses should be limited to replacing your e-liquids and the occassional replacement of juice delivery devices. Some of these have smaller parts that wear out and can be replaced if you are so inclined to go that route.

Things like the cartomizers in a cartotank will need to be totally replaced, the tank itself can last indefinitely.

Welcome to ECF! :toast:

I've been vaping for close to a year now and I'm still learning, but I'll try to help you as best I can :) Keep in mind this is just my opinion...

Start with an eGo K passthrough: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecigbestsave/385169-new-style-ego-k-kits-now-available.html

I highly recommend this setup - it's easy for newbies, it's inexpensive, it won't make you go running back to cigarettes. I started with the eGo T, and it almost made me go back to smoking. For me, I wanted a setup that would simulate smoking as closely as possible and the eGo K Vision did that for me as a newbie.

Here is a video showing the setup, how to fill, etc... How to Set Up and Use the Joyetech with Vision eGo Clearomizer Starter Kit - MyFreedomSmokes.com - YouTube

Hope this helps you!

Once you have made 5 posts and the forum system resets (every hour), you will have access to my blog articles.

There's one in particular that you will want to read on common juice delivery devices: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/baditude/3230-1-proper-terminology-carto-tank-what-primer-juice-delivery-attachments.html

and an example of a recommended starter setup: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/baditude/3706-4-good-starters-setup-beginning-vapor.html
