I smoked 2+ packs a day om Marlboro lights and I can only handle chain vaping 24 mg. Tell your friend to go to Wal Mart and buy a bottle of sun mark glycerin USP and mix a smaller batch of lower nic liquid to try. The glycerin is like 7 bux for a 6 oz bottle and lasts forever. You can download the Ejuicemeup calculator online for free and click on tools and then nic combine to see how much mixed with how much of his current liquid will make how many mgs. This saved me in the beginning. The stronger liquid made my tongue and throat so sore that I nearly stopped vaping when I found out what the problem was. Also tell him to buy a syringe to measure with. Like the ones you give liquid medicine to kids with.

It's been clearly demonstrated by ECF members that there is a factor 10 difference in individual tolerance to nicotine.

In other words some people cannot consume large amounts of 6mg (0.6%) without unpleasant symptoms of over-consumption, while one or two are known to use 60mg (6%). Also, apparently there is no correlation with the amount the individual previously smoked (it is not the case that someone who smoked 40 a day needs a high nic strength). The average requirement is for 18mg strength, which most would call a medium strength. Available retail strengths go from 6mg to 45mg (ultra high). This high strength is probably most use for newcomers with regular size ecigs and suboptimal inhalation technique, in order to get some nic into their system (multiple clinical trials show that beginners with minis together with low-strength liquid and no mentoring get zero or very little nicotine delivered); however some individuals do tolerate very high strength and choose it even in efficient devices.

It may be better to go for WTA e-liquid than super-high nic strength, it would seem to be a better choice. There is a lot of research that could be carried out on these issues.
