First, I'd like to applaud the service from Liberty Flights. I ordered a Riva 510 kit last Thursday morning and was taking my first vape the following Saturday afternoon. Pretty impressive considering it had to cross the Pacific Ocean to get to me.

On to the reason for this post. Haven't touched an analog since Saturday and been happily vaping away. However, at times it feels as if the TH on the 510 atty is to harsh. Does the nic content and/or the PG/VG contribute to the TH? Should I give it more time and see if I adjust? From some reading, I'm thinking of trying either the 901 or LR901 atty.

I've tried 3 flavors thus far: PG 14MG Apple, PG 18MG Vanilla, and PG 14MG Peanut Butter (this is my favorite so far as the flavor actually comes through nicely on the 510 atty).

Comments? TIA

There are a couple of components that will give you a harsh throat hit. First is the voltage. As you are vaping on a Riva that is not an issue. The second is Nicotine strength. The higher the nicotine the harsher the throat hit. Third the low resistance attys will make the vapor warm. With a warm vapor I get more of a throat hit. Fourth I would make sure the atty or cart has plenty of juice as a dried up atty will give you a dry harsh hit. Fifth and final is the way you inhale. If you try and take a fast and hard inhale you can dry out the atty. I prefer a slow inhale into the mouth then inhale that mouth full into my lungs, followed by a 1 second inhale into the lungs. As always this is my experience, you mileage may vari. Good luck and Happy vaping!

Thanks for the tips UC. Slowing down the inhale has helped. I also find that not completely pursing my lips on the atty eases the TH.

Any thoughts on the 901 vs 510 attys?

I think the consensus is that the 510 is capable of a little more heat that the 901. You can use the button on your riva to control the heat. I often hit the button on the way to my mouth to preheat a little, do a slow four second pull into my mouth, letting go of the button two or three seconds into it. Experiment a little to see what works for you. Also be sure and drink plenty of liquids. Nothing like a vape and then a drink of coffee to take away the dry feeling. (but hopefully not 5 gallons a day like I do. lol) Later, JD :vapor:
