Ok, after all the problems Ive had lately with Protank 2 coil inconsistency and leaky center pins and such, I decided to try something totally different. I bought a Prometheus clone today, and honestly love it!!! No leaks, no issues...I fill and vape...simple as that. Im using cotton for my wick. Ok, heres the tricky part. Im runnig a Provari 2.5, and the guy at the shop set up my coils, and he used 30 gauge wire and made dual coils. The ohms came out to 1.1 on my Provari, and I really want around 1.8 or so at least. Any tips on how to achieve this, as in how many wraps possibly? I dont have any wire, and I'll be going to my usual shop tomorrow. I kinda ventured out today going to various shops I found on google maps after I searched. One (where I bought the clone) was good, and the rest..well...mehhh at best. Anywho, Im really diggin this tank (RBA or however its called, please correct me if Im wrong), and the vape quality. It has adjustable airflow, and puts out hella vapor. It doesn't seem to mute the flavors at all like my protanks did. Seasoned vets or those with experience, please help me with this new venture because I really dont wanna fry my Provari lol. Im waiting for him to get some Russian 91's in, and will be picking one up as soon as he does!!!:vapor: Happy vaping all!! Oh, today is day 13 with no cigs for me :2cool:

The provari has a built in feature that will not allow it to vape if the ohms are too low. If u like the setup u have now, I'd stick with it. Experiment with rebuilding it though. Try 32ga wire, try single coil, try silica wick. All have their own merits n you'll never really know ur favorite setup unless u try a few different ways :)

how many wraps you need depends on how thick the wick is and what sort of coil your trying to build.
you will need a multimeter and wire to make a new coil(s)
if your aiming for 1.8 ohms total
and you have 2 coils in a parallel circuit
both coils need to be 3.6 ohms each
and they need to be as identical in terms of resistance (ohms) as you can make them.
when checking the ohms with your meter, you want to see a constant reading. it should jump around a bit for a second then hold steady (holding steady for more than 5 seconds). if the reading keeps jumping around you have an intermittent short or lose connection. if the coil reading is steady but very low then you have a short like coils touching the posts or other coils.

You could either get 30 gauge kanthal and do the same build as the shop did but with a few more wraps on each coil or you can get 32 gauge and do the same amount of wraps that the shop did. Both these options will bump up the ohms. The provari has protection so I think your good with a 1.1ohm coil though. I don't have a provari so I might be wrong but I'm sure someone that owns 1 will chime in soon. Happy vaping

I'd highly recommend searching some building tutorials on YouTube for your particular rebuildable atomizer. There are a ton of ways to rebuild and its important to learn about Ohms Law and Amp limits before really diving in. Generally, using 30 and 32 gauge will raise your resistance, or adding more wraps. Be safe out there! And your Provari will protect itself, still good to know the basics of batteries and building though before getting into mechs if that's the direction you end up going.

Thanks guys, So far, I know I need each coil to be at least 3.6 or 4 ohms to achieve my desired result. its just a matter of coil size and such. I know its a learning curve lol, and wow, theres a lot to learn apparently. The coils from the shop are both "perfect" looking, and I tried, but mine came out looking....like a bad spring in a bic pen lol!!! I know I'll get the hang of it, I just need some practice hahaha.

this is how i make all of my coils sub-ohm or otherwise.. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...cussion/498945-my-build-ego-octopus-mini.html

the same idea could apply to a cotton build as well.

I used 6 - 7 wraps of 30 gauge Kanthal wire for a single coil to make 2.0 ohm for my AGA-T2 on my Provari's.
