This vaping stuff is crazy and hard to get myhead round it all. Im using both the protank 1 and 2 minis. But I have a few questions.
First im considering buying a new tank and its a toss up between the protank 3 or the kanger aerotank. So guess I'm wondering what's the better one?.. or would it just be the same if I braught the airflow connector you can buy on its own and put it on my protank 2?
Alsoo. In the meantime while I'm still using my pro 1 and 2 what are the better coils to be using I'm currently using 1.8 and getting a burnt taste if I'm running my bat anything above 3.5v . If that makes any sence as tbh I'm not really sure what I'm doing :)

I can't help you with the first part but ...

The 1.8 ohm coil will burn around 3.4 volts or so and once it burns it is ruined :( (unless you re-coil it yourself) sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Personally, since I'm still so new to this myself, I just buy new coils.
That being said, when I started out I bought five 1.8 coils, five 2.2 coils and five 2.5 coils. I went back and bought 30 2.5 ohm coils. I never use anything but the 2.5 ohms now because my batt only goes up to like 4.8 volts and the 2.5 ohm coils won't burn at the highest setting. I keep saying if I find a juice I like at a low voltage I'll use the others ... but I haven't.
Good luck.

Make sure before you actually take a hit you take a dry hit…this means take a hit but don't press the button(so that the juice primes the wick in your coil. That should help the burnt taste…as for the aerotank or the pro tank 3 there is a video on youtube about the difference…to sum it up they are both dual coil devices except the aerotanks coil positioning lets air hit both the coils….basically this means that you won't burn coils as much and you will get more vapor
So I would say the aerotank…and I know plenty people really like it already.

And what battery or mod are you using?

Thanks for the advise on the coils :) ill try knocking the volts down a little untill I get some more coils maybe some 2.2 or 2.5? I'm currently using the vision spinner .. I like the look of the aero and heard some good things but people are also saying to just buy the air flow thing and stick it on my protank 2?.. the aeros£14.99 on my ee-pack pretty good price? Theres just so much to buy but not enough money lol :)

Always adjust if you have VV to whatever the best taste and vapor is...the idea that more volts or more watts are necessary for vaping or better in some way is totally bogus. Different resistance in different toppers will taste different, find the best taste!! :)

I've used coils anywhere from 1.5Ω to 5.5Ω on a wide variety of toppers at anywhere from 3.0V to ~8.0V and if you adjust it up, find the level that works, just note the voltage used so you can start there next time...

Getting the nasty burnt taste at about 4.2 but lots of vape which j like :). Ill defo try 2.5 tho. Won't buy to many because that aero just keeps calling me to buy it ;). Should go onto of my spinner ok right?

4.2V is really high for a 1.8ohm wick. I use 2.2ohm wicks, and I can't go above 4.0V or it will burn. I think the aerotanks use the same wicks as the protank 1 and 2's. You should be able to interchange the wicks between all those models.

Edit: I lied, just looked at the website. The Aerotank coils are NOT interchangeable with protank 1 and 2's.

Stosh, I don't want to get into it with someone who has been on ECF for over 3 years with 4K+ posts but... did you read the OP??? They said they were getting a burnt taste on a 1.8 ohm coil @ higher than 3.5 volts. You know that means the coil is probably burnt.
I mean juice can burn but when you turn it back down it won't taste burnt anymore if it was just the juice. When the coil burns it will all taste burnt.

Yes the aerotank is 510 threaded. Your Vision Spinner is 510 threaded.

Well that explains the burnt taste then ill keep it low untill I get my new coils. Well if that's right about the aero all is good. Seems to be drinking liquid at mo tho considering I'm keeping the bat low avoiding burning my coil. Will it drink less with a 2.2 or 2.5? Hopfully the last 2 coils hold out till monday or so lol.

It will drink less on a lower voltage. The ohm shouldn't affect the juice usage except because you turned up the voltage. Higher voltage = faster juice usage.

Maybe ill change my coil and try again lol :S .

Yes you should do that if you haven't already. A burnt coil (I've been told) can contaminate a tank if it's left in the juice too long and leave the juice with a burnt flavor. (I've never left one in after it burnt but that's the rumor through the grape vine.)

Should be able to run a 1.8 ohms coil up to about 4 volts. Realize diff volts for diff juices. Also darker and/ or heavy VG juice will clog a coil quicker- juice gunk forms on the element and every vape tastes funky/ burnt. Either change the coil or wash and dry burn it. As far as ohms for the Spinner (I own it) like 3bet said 2.5 ohms is best as it gives the widest range of of use voltage wise. 2.5 ohms will also drain your batts slightly slower.

Edit: 3bet is right- a gunked up coil will contaminate fresh juice.

Just chiming in because I vape 1.8 ohm ProTank coils at 4 volts all day long.
I DO pop the airtube off the coil and remove ONE of the strands of "flavor wick" when I put in a new one. This allows more juice to get to the coil, does NOT make it leaky, and improves everything - vapor, flavor, eliminating "dry hits," etc.
(Also note - the BOX says 1.8 but the coils almost always read about 2.0)

Don't have a PT3 or aerotank - just 1's and 2's.
I did buy just an Aerotank base - and it looks like it'll be a nifty little upgrade to a ProTank1 or 2.

Your advice is right on....what I was trying to say is don't get hung up on boosting over 3.5V if it tastes good there or under...:) Too often I see posts saying "it's OK if I'm at XX but if I try higher voltage it's burnt" Higher voltage just for the sake of using higher voltage...

my bad  I misunderstood.
For the record I agree about too many people saying crank a juice up to the max. I have a few I like at a lower setting than other recommendations I've seen for the same juice.

No problem...:) If you wan to try our high voltage, and everybody does...it would be like buying a car an not stomping on the gas to see what it can do... get a hi-res atty. Something in the 4.5Ω - 5.0Ω range works well for high voltage, you can find them in the vendor's clearance section for a song. ('cause nobody uses them anymore)

p.s. always check the clearance section before checking out, they're full of stuff that "looks interesting to try out but not at that price" that are now 1/2 price or better.....
