Took the plunge...

Well,

I did it. I took the GLV2 plunge. My Prodigy V1 and V2 are both on their last legs and won't be lasting me much longer... and unfortunately for PS, it was a "2 strikes and you're out" endeavor for me. After shelling out nearly $300 to PS, plus a bit more for post-warranty repairs on the switches, etc... I can't justify sending them any more money.

So, I've been reading up on what are considered to be the best 5v devices available... and on the advice of many here on the ECF forums (even though they may not know they advised me) I have decided on the GLV2.

The no-fail button sounds great to me. The Prodigy V1 and V2 are riddled with button/switch problems. I've sent my V1/V2 switches in for repair on numerous occasions... and they have never worked quite right. As you might imagine, all the mis-fires and no-fires have made vaping a somewhat frustrating experience. I'm really looking forward to a button that works every time!

Anyway, thank you to all who have discussed the GLV2 here, and to those who have responded to my one or two threads about it. You have all helped me make an informed decision that I'm certain I'll be happy with.

Now the wait begins... I want my GLV2... Yesterday!!

I think you will be very happy you chose the GLV.The others you spoke of are just pretty,but they always have issues.I wanted something that was durable and dependable.Thats the GLV.I love mine.

Yeah, the Prodigy models always seem to have me pulling my hair out... There was a period of about 3 days where I couldn't get either of them working consistently, and I actually went back to analogs for those few days, after over a year away from them.

I thought about the new Prodigy V3... 3.1... or whatever their current version is... but I just figured I've given PS enough of my money and plenty of opportunities to provide me with a satisfactory product. You're right about the looks of them... the PS line looks nice... I just think they spend too much time trying to reinvent the wheel when it comes to buttons and switches, and not enough time making sure their designs actually work consistently over time.

I've always thought they should have just found a pre-existing (and consistently working) switch solution instead of trying to come up with their own. There are push buttons in everything, literally millions of different types of buttons and switches they could have used. So why they choose to waste time and energy on new and flawed designs... is beyond me. I just don't want to fund their shoddy research anymore, lol...

Congrats, the button type and location were a big reason for my move to a mini GLV-2 (I'm digging 3.7v)... hopefully I'll have mine soon

Jay was teasing us a while back about sending out some prototypes for testing, but with the launch of the Super-mini's thats probably on the back burner.
