Tuesday I got my first starter kit, eGo. I picked it up since I was heading out of town for work and the site has very strict smoking policies. Figured I could sneak a couple hits in the car between smoke breaks and that would tide me over. We'll Tuesday night I used it exclusively to get used to it. I enjoyed it so much that I haven't had an analog since! I even have an unopened pack left that I have not even felt like opening.

Yesterday I visited one of the b&m where I am working and picked up a zmax v2 and an aero tank. After a day of fiddling with the settings, think I finally have it figured out and dialed in to where I like it.

Now I have a few questions

What's the best way to store an aero tank that is not in use but has juice left in it?

If I change the juice to a different flavor do I need to clean/change the coil?

What is the recommended way to clean the tank and coil?

I'm sure I will have more questions to come

This site is a great resource!

Thanks

Andy

Good for you on the switch!

I generally only change the coils when they go bad, which is pretty noticeable from the lack of vapor and/or the burned taste.

Here's a decent walkthrough for how to go about cleaning them:

Cleaning and Coil Head Life in Kanger Protanks and Aerotanks » onVaping

I've never used the aerotank personally, but I've used a number of clearomizers (Kanger pro tank, vivi nova, etc) and often when I'm changing flavors, I don't bother with the deep cleaning process and just give them a good rinse with a process along these lines (different clearomizer and device but same principle):

I find it prevents flavor creep and works just fine for a quick flavor change on a relatively clean device. Deeper cleaning like the one listed up top I do once every week or two regardless of changing flavors. I tend to change flavors pretty frequently throughout the day so it would be too much unnecessary work to deep clean them every time. If you find yourself in that boat, the best option is to look at adding a few extra tanks so you can keep them on hand with your favorite juices.

As far as storage, I wouldn't leave them for months or anything, but throughout the day, I just set the tank down on my desk (on it's side or on it's base depending on the tank's design) when not in use. Nothing fancy required. If you're leaving it for dramatically longer, then you probably want to give it a good cleaning periodically and keep an eye on the shelf-life of your juice. Most good vendors print the date of expiration/quality date range on the bottle itself. It might say something like "made on 01/31/14 and good for one year from manufacture date".

Hi,

Cool that you took the plunge, and in time to get up to speed and independence too man; good move.

I'm a lazy ....... and don't bother to clean the wicks if I change flavours; after a few mins it seems fine to me. A rinse and a 'dry burn' is a good idea now and again; look up youtube vids for the 'dry burn' thing; all it is is burning the crud off in the open air.

When a coil finally refuses to play ball, or just dies, don't bin it; in a few weeks time you'll be buying resistive kanthal wire and wick material and fixing them up.

I mostly have like five or six little evod bcc tanks on the go with different flavours in each, and just fill them up when it runs out. I would have thought that your fancy tank would be the same. I'm a bit of a Kanger fan.

Nice to say hi mate; enjoy yourself. Remember that you can actually relax and enjoy your vaping now; no more fear of death required!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your success buddy! I haven't messed with that tank before but as far as cleaning it after each fill up I wouldn't worry about it. As you fill it up with new juice the old juice will vape out from the wicks over short period of time. Might leave a little taste of the old if you had some very strong stuff in it before. Nothing to worry about tho and once again congrats!

I'm another lazy sucker that never cleans his tanks. They shouldn't leak and if it does you have a bum tank. Either find the leak and fix it or get another tank.

As for changing flavors, I have more than one tank and if in the mood for a flavor change I just put another similar flavor in it. Mints stay in the mint tank, cinnamons in the cinnamon, creams in the cream.....you get the point. You'll find some flavors are almost impossible to get out even if you wash the tank. I've also found some good blends this way like, 1/2 tank Caramel Macchioto and 1/2 Butter Rum. They work well together. :toast:

I'll add my welcome to the forum! And I do the same as above, and just put in the new juice. I don't notice the difference once I have puffed a few times. And actually, I made a good flavor the other day by accident. I had a little bit of Cinnamon Roll left in the tank, and just put the Butterscotch on top. Nice flavor!
