I'm sure by now, most of us have several tools we've acquired, specifically for e-cig maintenance. Just yesterday, I acquired a pair of Fiskar scissors at an Office Depot.

Micro-Tip® Scissors (No. 5) / Scissors - Buy Online (Price $14.00) | Fiskars

They were $10 in store, 5 times the price of the cheapest pair they had in there. Of course, I probaly could have gotten by with the old, dull, heavy stainless steel scissors I've been using....but my hesitation was quickly shot down after I got home and tried them out. They cut my cotton like cutting butter....and leave no stringy run-a-way fibers left over :)

I also use a set of wire cutting tools from Crescent USA, which I got from home depot, that work great for cutting my kanthal wire.

What tools do you guys use? Anything awesome? Am I just a nerd? lol

Paper towels folding in multitudes of different configurations, mostly, is my tool of choice. I don't make my own coils although I'm capable. They're too cheap to buy already made.

Please show us where they are so cheap. Ten dollars for 5 is not cheap in my books.

Oh wow, did you really say that????

What kind of atty are you using? I really hope it's not an RBA, and you are not buying coils for it, paying some dimwit to wind them for you and waiting for them to ship. Kanthal in 100 ft. spools is dirt cheap, and any idiot can wind a coil for pennies without running to a B&M or waiting for it to ship.

I would NEVER EVER EVER let anyone else wind my coils, at any price.

For those of us who are cartotank users, a Slap Yo Moma tank tool is indispensible. Not only does it save wear & tear on the tank's o-rings, it makes setting up and refilling the tank super easy and fast. Found at Big Daddy Vapor.

When filling a carto, I use a wood tooth pick placed into the air hole. This keeps juice from entering the air hole when dripping juice into the top of the carto. This eliminates having to blow out the juice after the carto is primed.

I have cuticle scissors- they are curved and work well cutting wires close. At 64 I had never used needle nosed pliers now I can't live without a small set. Dental instruments come in handy too. Q-tips and paper towels are essential. I bought a cheap magnifying mirror at Hobby Lobby in the sewing dept with coupon that works great, might have to get more than 10x if my eyesight keeps going.

I hear ya on the Fiskar scissors! I thought I was the only one! I paid about $14.00 for mine at Walmart, worth every penny! I was away last month, pulled out my rebuild bag, they were gone! I was worried to death. So happy to get home and find they fell out of my bag on my hallway floor. Those things are unbeatable for cutting tiny cotton wicks.

No matter what cheap or expensive tool I buy, nothing will come close to being able to see what I'm doing. I bought a Magnifying Lamp from Staples and its the best money I've spent on any of my vape gear.
I would have to say that my magnifying lamp is my best tool, too. I'm going on 71 and just began treatment for macular degeneration. I'm into jewelry making so a already had on hand all the other tools I needed, including my magnifying lamp.

- Drill bits from my Gold Ferrous set. Makes it easier to see my wrap spacing, instead of the black ones.
- Soldering picks and tweezers
- Magnifying glass on flex arm, needles and anything else I can "borrow" from the wife's cross stitch stuff...

gold drill bit you say!! great idea my god this is fantastic and I never would have thought of it but so helpful!

My favorite vape related tool is probably my Lenk LTT-110 butane torch. It works great for oxidizing SS mesh. I also like to use toilet paper for cleaning inside my drip tips. For me it seems to work better than paper towels for that purpose. Beyond that, it's all the usual tools (jewelers screwdrivers, needle nose pliers, nail clippers, paper towels, Q-tips, and a multimeter). Lastly, bottom shelf vodka. I personally get weird about using rubbing alcohol.

My latest toy is a Klein MM1000 DMM. Great for accurate voltage and resistance readings. Would not either give up my long tweezers, needle nose pliers, vernier caliper, numbered drill set, lighted headband magnifier, various syringes, micro screwdrivers, paper towels, Q-tips, etc.

Hmm, chose a favorite ... maybe tomorrow
