Will I get laughed off the forum for saying this? I just got a Lemo (v1), my first RTA, and I might have too much vapor now. I know I'm getting more throat hit than I like, and it's making me cough.

I've been thinking about an RTA for a while, not because I was unhappy with my Nautilus Mini, but because I was tired of buying coils. They're not inexpensive on the internet, and if I have to buy one at the local vape shop, they charge $4.95 each.

I also have two Aerotank minis, and I eventually got to the point where I could do a passable job rebuilding those coils. I made one failed attempt at the BDC coils, and decided there had to be an easier way.

I've been vaping 6mg 50/50 at about 8-10W on the iStick 30W with my Nautilus, and now with the Lemo. I've tried playing around with the airflow & the wattage, but It's still making me cough.

Maybe I'll get used to it after a while, but I'm wondering if I should change my juice next time I order -- more VG, still lower nic? This tank came pre-wicked with 1.2 ohm coil. Might a different build help? Am I doomed to buy coils forever?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I think you need to put more power to it. 8 to 10w is not enough power imho. I run 1.4 to 1.5 ohm coils on mine(I own 6 BTW) and Vape at no lower than 16w on up to 22w. I think you need more power to the coils and properly fire that juice up. If you don't put enough power to it I've found it is harsh. Same with to much power. Try it you might be surprised.

I didn't read this whole thread, or any responses after the OP but try reducing the amount of pg. 50% pg is a lot and if your getting big clouds, or at least bigger than before that 6mg might be too much nicotine also.

I may try higher vg next time I order juice. What's helped most is changing the way I vape on it. Since the nautilus has a pretty restrictive air flow I was taking really hard hits on it without getting any lung hit, really. Not the case with the lemo. I haven't closed the air flow all the way in the lemoz but I'm sure I's more restrictive than many people might prefer. Once I started taking longer but more shallow hits, the coughing largely subsided.

I'm close I've found about 15w works for me, but I'm stilll playing around with it. I did open the airflow and tried it at a bit above 25w, just 'cause I could , but I found that a little too hot for me,

I wanted to thank those of you who offered suggestions and encouragement. My Lemo and I are getting along well now. I've built a couple of functioning coils for it so far (and many false starts). I am really, really bad it it. Perhaps I should save pictures in case someone starts a coil blooper thread. On the bright side, I can only get better. I'm thinking seriously of getting another, because unless I can master those little BVC coils, I may be retiring my Nautilus.

It does get easier, and before you know it, you'll be very quickly and easily building coils that look and function just as you want -- when I first started building coils, they looked like a spastic 4 yr old made them, but it really wasn't any time at all until building/mounting a new coil was no biggie; they worked just as I wanted them too, and didn't even look bad (though I've always gone in for spaced-wrap coils rather than those very pretty compressed ones; the compressed coils really concentrate the heat, I've found). It's just a physical skill like typing or swinging a bat -- the more you do it, the better you get! :thumb:

As for the Nautilus... I think those are pretty much love it or hate it -- lots of folks just swear by them, love them to death, but there's a good many others that just hate them, for various reasons; when I tried a Nautilus last spring, I couldn't stand the way it changed the flavor of the vape, and it was one more lesson in the fact that I just don't like dual-coils in any application.

There are so many options with RTAs as far as coils, air and juice composition. I like the Lemo V1, mostly because I figured it out. It will take any 510 DT. Since the price is very reasonable, I had a slew of them after trying others. But, prices are coming down to stay competitive and others are coming along. Still like the Lemo, though. I think it is flexible in air and juice flow.
