Try re oxidising the mesh wick can never over oxidise if that fails give the coils a wiggle to try and move them away from the short and last but not least use a piece of cigarette rolling paper and wrap it around the wick the wrap coils around that attach to your device and pulse fire it until the paper has burnt away blowing sharply onto the coil to get rid of burnt paper this will form a layer of carbon between the coil and the wick downside is I found that it gave you s burning paper taste for a tank or two did with me anyway

i've heard about that cig paper technique. i'll look into it. but i've tried adjusting the coils and nothing seems to work. i'll try oxidizing the wick some more though. thanks!

There no need to oxidize the crap out of your wick, doing juice-burns and all that.
All you need to do when making a new wick is roll it, go over it with a lighter once, make a nice and even coil that's neither too tight or too loose.

Then pulse fire your mod until you have a evenly gloving coil. That's really all there is to it.

Best advice I ever read is pdib's post on hotspots caused by topcoil tension (keep adjusting coil from wick to center post making sure it's not digging into the wick, and make sure it's not too loose). Once I got the hang of it I no longer use washers, no more kinks or folding over the topcoil, no more nudging the wick as close as possible to the center post.

When pulsing, I recommend putting a few drops of juice your center post insulator so it doesn't melt.

just an update for anyone who cares lol, i got the tanks working. i pulled the wick a bit closer to the pos post for both tanks and its coming out fine now. but has anyone noticed that on a fresh charged battery, the coils tend to heat up a bit extra for a while? after a couple of pulses though it goes back to normal, no hot spots and hits smooth.
