I have noticed that the CE4 clearomizers that are top feeders, give an awesome hit when full to the top, but when relying on wicking it gets airy and harsh. I think I need to try a bottom feeder and see if I notice a difference. What have y'all noticed with these????

Okay, so you have 510 threading. The current BCC favs are the Kanger EVOD and Kanger Protank. Both are clearomizers with replaceable heads. The advantage of the Protank is that it is made of glass, so you don't have to be concerned about juices that can potentially damage plastic tanks.
For small amounts of juice (1.ml(?)) I like the CE3 XL, aka Phoenix Bottom Coil cartomizer (although it's really a clearo). But I seem to be in the minority, lots of people have reported leaking problems.

Do you mean a "bottom coil" or a "bottom feeder"?
A bottom coil is a clearomizer.

But I have clearomizers that are top feeders. A bunch actually. I think I need to try out a few pro tanks. The top coils are awesome as long as they are covered in e-juice. The wicking is not pleasant. I think this is a reason a lot of us noobs have second thoughts.

From one noob to another, I am content with my EVOD bottom coil. I like that I don't have to worry about wicks. If the thing stops producing vapor, I unscrew it and rescrew it - it works. If it stops tasting good, I screw on a new head. It's plug and play to me.
I initially chose the EVOD when I read somewhere about chain-vapers getting a hot lip from the top coil models.
ETA: I have not had problems at all with leaking. Someday when tank-busting juice becomes an issue I want to try a Protank. I'm just afraid of dropping it!

I'm a noob too. I like the Kanger EVOD. It is pretty airy though. I get a better throat hit with the IClear 16 though. I'm going to try a Protank or IClear 30 next.
Top coil won't get a hot tip unless its a metal tip.perhaps haven't tried it. I've heard evods were good as for the protank its annoying me since it has been leaving liquid on my battery contact. My top coil vivi nova mini haven't so prefer my mini top coils. In the otherhand top coil Stardust v2 flood easier and do the same thing the protank is doing to me now. Its not all the time but happens more than I like to deal with.
i like them both, i actually kinda preffered the bottom feeders at the beginning, now it doesnt matter too much, i just found i got more dry hits on top feed from not tilting enough etc
As another noob, I love the Kanger ProTank. of those I've tried, the Vivi Nova's, dual coil Vivi' the Innokin iClear 30, and Stardust's, it's by far my favorite. It is airy but not harsh.
I just made the switch to Pro Tank. First foray into bottom coils and I am hooked! Been using it for 4 days. Found it to be a little airy as well, but I plugged 2 of the three air holes and the draw is perfect now. just ordered 2 more! No more tilting and dry hits.
