Torching the RM2?

I personally believe it is totally possible and will try it again when I get a new chrome one. I did one that was already sanded down to brass and got some great purple, but it faded when it air cooled. I tried on some cheap chrome plated DT's and it worked but was much less forgiving than SS. On the brass one I eventually sanded it again and it was like nothing ever happened so, for me no harm no foul:)
I did not apply direct flame on the chrome plating, just let the ambient heat pass next to it, it changed rapidly, be sure it's clean and void of any fingerprints or debris:)

i blowtorched the top of mine to be more of a match for the black grand i usually run. It's no different to an SS cap in that. I use the same atty today - so the plating does not just peel off.
