Hey guys. I need your expertise opinions on a desicion if ya dont mind :p
I am very anxious on purchasing my first mod. I've been stocking up on my 510 attys for a while now and Id prefer to not hassle with adaptors. After much reseach, I've narrowed my choices down to either the BB from Altsmoke or the EGO. I just cannot decide which!? The both look awesome! and I'm sure I'll be more than satisfied with what I go with. I do plan on using the 510 cartomizers with them as well as mostly dripping and eventually pick up some LR attys to give me a hint at what a 5v would be like.
Obviously the Ego has great reviews. Most of you seem more than happy with them. Very classy look to it! The ONLY concern really is that I've heard that the Ego battery ISN'T a true 3.7 volt device. I'm not sure if this statement is true or not, thats just what I've heard. If that is the case, then I'd go for the BB. Im very satisfied with my standard Joye 510, but lately have been craving that little "extra". And if the Ego is just basically a factory made Joye batt displayed as a mod then I dont consider it that nesessary. for now anyway. If someone can share their thoughts on this matter that would be most appriciated.
Also, I dont hear too much about the BB these days. Ive heard awesome things about AltSmoke and they're some-what local to me so I know they are US made and not just a china piece of junk. The price is more (batts and changer not inc.) but if it worth it then no contest.
Any help is much appriciated!
-Matt

I don't own a BB so i cannot really tell. But i own a couple of HV mods and got myself an ego recently. I was not expecting much, but i was stunned.

It performs way better than a standard Joye battery (on all aspects, TH, vapor, etc). Personally, I like it better than my HV mods and i think im gonna stick with the ego from now on.

if it's not true 3.7v(which i never heard of) , imo it feels higher. And it is way smaller than it looks (guess its true for all devices, but it's the smallest mod ive seen). Highly recommend.

The Ego was designed by Mik at Janty. So even though it maybe factory made somewhere else, he put all his effort to create a great device, and probably supervised production quality.:D

I honestley don't have either of these, but I do have a Silver Bullet and couldnt be happier with it! The only real differance between the BB & SB is the BB is a little smaller and has a differant button. The SB is made like a tank, mine has been through a world of hurt, and still hasn't let me down.
Yep!! BB,SB None other E-Smok'n machines like eather one!!,they are in a class all their own!!

hello, my first and only pv is an Ego that I had since Feb 11...No problems whatever and love the vapor that it produces...I even buy the cheap attys for 510 and again no problems....Only down side, is the batteries are expensive when you can buy them from Janty...have both manuel and autos and both work great...Enjoy and good luck on your choice..

I've got both and have been completely satisfied with them. I think it's tough to pit one against the other however, a bit like asking should I get an 8 passenger minivan or a 2 seat sports car. The BB is great at home, well built, replacement batteries are readily available and cheap. It feels good in your hand and the button works every time. The Ego is built for travel, easily carried and concealed and also, well built. The button, while not nearly as stout as the BB likewise works every time. They both perform really well with 510 attys and I also enjoy mine with the KR carts. You really can't go wrong with either one.

I Just got the Janty eGo yesterday, so far it is working like a champ, I charged it yesterday for 20 minutes and its been going strong since then. This has been be the most consistent vaping experience of my life. Every draw i take is just like the other, Solid vapor production sleek design and small foot print.

I'd go with a BB or even just build a nicostik for a couple of bux.
The main thing is I'd stick with something that uses generic batteries.
Much cheaper in the long run.

Having an eGo for 3 months now and having a BB for a while there are some differences between the two. While I use my eGo 90% of the time, I will only use the BB while at home. It is larger and harder for me to carry around with me all day while I am out. The BB is a true 3.7 while the ego works at 3.1 but if you have been using a std 510 battery then you are used to the 3.1 already. Both give great TH and I find a little better vapor, battery life and flavor off the eGo. Both are great PV's and you should be happy with both.

Right from the horses mouth: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/joye-510/65055-battery-voltages-surprise.html

Well what about that eGo/Tornado. Certainly with its big (650mAh) battery capacity, it must have a higher delivered voltage.. right?

Ummmm.....

Seeing a trend here? Joye batteries, by design and as a function of their internal circuitry and resistance... do NOT put out 3.7V.

I really appriciate your opinions. Its still a toss up. My concern is still the ego.
The BB is a true 3.7 while the ego works at 3.1 but if you have been using a std 510 battery then you are used to the 3.1 already.

So what i heard is actually right? dont the factory Joye batteries operate at 3.2v? If thats the case then wouldnt you get a weaker TH with Ego (compared to a standard 510) ? Obviously the ego batts will last me all day, but how would it produce anymore vapor and TH then a 510?

I have never tried the BB, but I have heard good reviews on it. With this said, I LOVE my Tornego.

Although it's true that the Ego batt puts out a bit less voltage, it is plenty for great TH and consistent output.

If you agree with me that the old 510 batts provided great throat hit fresh off the charger, then seemed to reduce output as you deplete the batt charge, you'll understand that the Ego batt is different.

First, as Matt says, it lasts some all day. And I can add that, unlike the old 510 batts, the Ego seems to vape like an old 510 fresh off the charger until it shuts itself off for a recharge.

It is quality, consistent output. I couldn't imagine that ANY mod could do better. Maybe as well, but not better.

I don't have the silver bullet, but can say that the ego does not just have longer battery life. The cone does indeed warm up the vapour and enhance the flavour for sure. It's apples and oranges as far as I can see. I wouldn't be looking at one against the other personally. Seeing as you want to step up voltage, then probably the ego would not be the choice purely based on that. Trade it off against portability and such, then the ego would be a good choice. I personally have found that the ego outperforms the 510 on many levels and is a good upgrade if you're not looking for a mod that is much bigger. I'm looking at a precise or something similar because I personally don't like the bigger mods and am happy at 3 or 3.7 volts (for 510/joye stuff anyway).

Beware buying from TW, alot of people are complaining about DOA or defective parts with little or no customer service. I doubt it will be any different once they start selling LR atty's.

The eGo is a nice ecig, but really its just an improved 510. I have moved on from it and use an Xhaler at home and a Bartleby with LR atty's when I'm at work or out and about so I have 5V vaping (or technically ~10W) all the time. There are a lot of great mods out there, I'd recommend a mod that lets you try different setups so you can find what works for you.

You might also consider the XShaler than nhaler will be releasing soon.
