Well, the thing that would offer you the most options for absolutely anything you could think of to put on top would likely be a mech mod, with an optional kick... I think I'm using the right terminology. I haven't been looking at mech mods much, as I don't have the time to truly tinker with them. I can't even find the time to learn how to rebuild a Protank coil at the moment, although I'm saving my burnt ones for when I do. With a mech mod, you could go into subohming, and if you add a kick you'd have a regulated device.

I have been doing some serious reading on mods and know I have a loong way to go before I get to that stage of the game. But the thought of a Magneto or a Vanilla with my own built, Russian, Ithaka, or Immortalizer on it just makes me giddy. *starting to think shinyitis is showing.

All of the devices you listed on your paired down to list will NOT accept any ego threaded device without a 510 to ego adaptor. Just so you know.

Also I think the Hcigar is a mech mod, not VV/VW at all, so a very different animal than the rest on your list.

The eVic does not need an EGO adapter, it is threaded for both.

OK, in keeping with the initial post... what do I not like about the eVic?

I wish I could buy it in whatever color I chose. I wanted it in black, so I had to buy the starter kit then buy the tubes, or build my own. I built my own. The USB cover is a bit annoying. The menu is really too vast to control with the toggle. I do wish the eGo device I have would look better when installed. There is a slight gap that is not a huge deal, but it does bother me...

But the 510s fit perfectly

What are big winners for me about the eVic? I like the USB charge port. I don't want to have to remove batteries to charge it every time. While the toggle menu is a PITA to navigate, the computer interface makes it extremely easy. I like that I can vary my voltage or wattage throughout my drag. I can fire the coil hot for the first 1/2 a second to get it rolling, then dial it back to make the vape smoother. I like the fact that if I break the control head I can just buy a new head, not a complete device. I like being able to track my vaping with the MVR software. I like the fact that I can update the firmware in my device, enabling more features with every update.

IMO the benefits far outweigh my complaints. I can wholeheartedly recommend the eVic as a solid VW mod for under $100.

Going along with tink on this, I started on a 2 ego pass through 900mah $30, then got a evic $100 and then got a telescopic mech $50 with a kick $25... I've seen the pros amd cons of each. I currently use the mech without the kick and just build my coils to adjust the performance. But I'm still not completely satisfied. I'm in the habbit of compiling a list of upgrade options now. But if I could go back in time with what I now know, I would recommend to myself to just get a semovar. That device is beast. Semovar is all I would need. It could substitute over any device if had. Semovar. Tube mode accommodates for different battery sizez. Can be VW or a mech with a bottom fire switch. Just look at it. Semovar.

Of those on your list the Sigelei Zmax V5 is the best. Vamo's & eVic's just don't hold up well enough.

As far as VV or VW, they both work, it's more about which mathematical formula is easier for you to use than anything else. Look at a mechanical as being VR (variable resistance), still does the same thing.

Might be just me, but that thing is just SEXY. :w00t:
Will come back to that when i know how to build coils, no need in jumping in with both feet just yet. But I will add it to the top of my wish list Thanks.
