Well, hi, there.

I got my first electronic cigarette today, and am still trying to get used to it. :)

It's a Red Dragon, and the only reason I chose that particular brand is because it seemed simpler than the others I was looking at. And, even though it said they did not advocate "dripping," they helpfully had instructions on how to do it, and someone told me they really liked a certain Johnson Creek Smoke juice (which I also ordered).

I have nothing to compare it to, so I can't honestly say if it is good or bad, but I can get vapor out of it:D. And I was quite pleased with their shipping--they shipped it out the very day I ordered, and it got here a day before they said it would. And the prices did not seem bad, at all.

I do wish I had found this forum first, though, just so I could have chosen with more information.

I did take it with me when we went out tonight, and asked if I could use it in the restaurant's bar, just to see. The server was fine with it, but she said she needed to ask the bartender. He said no--not because he had anything against the e-cig, but because he was afraid the other customers would light real cigarettes. Ah, well.

I am looking forward to being able to have a better selection of hotels now that I can vape instead of smoke. It is getting awfully hard to find a hotel that allows smoking and is also pug-friendly:rolleyes:

Hi and welcome!
There are lots of great people on this forum.

I always refer to it as a 'personal vaporizer' - never an e-cigarette.
Anything 'cigarette' and people can be more inclined to equate it with 'smoking'.

It's pretty simple to explain the battery, atomizer, cartridge and liquid -if someone really wants to know.... don't really even need to mention 'nicotine'.
Since they can be used with '0' nic fluid it's a choice to vape flavors and/or nicotine.

I've gotten to where I don't necessarily ask first (in most situations - and am aware and polite by not vaping in others .... where it really might not be welcome)

It's easy enough to vape before entering somewhere... or exhale slowly after holding in a puff... and be aware of the fact smokers and non-smokers may have issues when they hear 'cigarette' whether .... log or electronic.

If someone asks - and they want more of an answer than personal vaporizer..... kewl - it's great to share the information.... and leave out the 'unwanted' and really incorrect term 'cigarette'.

Enjoy!

I also started with the red dragon. It was so easy and it worked well. You can also pop off the top of the cartridge and add a couple of drops of liquid. I did this a lot! It makes the cartridges last longer. I also found a place called e-cig.com that has the same thing a lot cheaper. I used the red dragon for about 6 weeks. Then I found this forum!!!! I now have the 901 and the m401. I like them too! I think they have a lot more flavor. The red dragon got me from 1 1/2 to 2 packs a day down 1 a day. Now I am a 0!!!! These things do work!!!

Well, hi, there.

Hi! And Welcome to the family!

I got my first electronic cigarette today, and am still trying to get used to it. :)

Give it a couple days, after 2-3 days you will be thoroughly hooked on vaping.

I do wish I had found this forum first, though, just so I could have chosen with more information.

Don't feel bad, I spent 100s of dollars before I found this forum (of course after finding this forum I spent hundreds more, but on good stuff LOL)

I did take it with me when we went out tonight, and asked if I could use it in the restaurant's bar, just to see. The server was fine with it, but she said she needed to ask the bartender. He said no--not because he had anything against the e-cig, but because he was afraid the other customers would light real cigarettes. Ah, well.

And that is a very valid argument. When I get that one I have no problem at all abiding by the rules. I always conform to their wishes but if the reason is ignorance, I will educate them first, but that is the most valid reason of them all.

I am looking forward to being able to have a better selection of hotels now that I can vape instead of smoke. It is getting awfully hard to find a hotel that allows smoking and is also pug-friendly:rolleyes:

That was the exact reason I started in the first place. I travel 40% for my job and got tired of staying in the same room when it was available as it was the only smoking room.

Again welcome and do take the time to read as much as possible here, this is an unbelievable community of great people with tons of information.

I just received my Red Dragon battery yesterday...I wanted a third battery for my Greensmoke and the RD was a lot cheaper. I like the vapor of the Greensmoke and since their cartridges are cheaper than RD's, I'll probably stick with them. I also have a SmokeStik and like it better for the vapor produced but had enough trouble with reliability that I wanted to try the 2-piece type. I'm keeping my SmokeStik though...have learned to switch back and forth between two atomizers. I can see how easy it is to end up with several different types, so I guess it comes down to "just whatever suits you best."

Ya know, I always maintained that smokers were friendlier than non-smokers, and it is so nice to see that "vapers" are friendlier, still:)

Thanks for the welcome!

I have seen "901" mentioned several times, and people seem to like it a lot...but what exactly is it? Who makes it?

I will also check out the other brands mentioned.

I quickly discovered that one battery is not enough--at least two are needed so one can be charging. So until I get the other battery I ordered, I cannot see if I can go completely vaping.

Any tips for how to get more vapor? I think I am not drawing hard enough, or something. When the thing gets warm, it does seem to deliver a nice big, puff, but I think I must take teeny drags of cigarettes (which surprises me) because it is really different. A normal me-drag does not seem very productive.

Are the pen styles easier to drag than the minis?
