Hi, I'm Phil. Just joined this awesome forum a few days ago and want to thank everyone here for sharing their knowledge, experience and insight.

I've been vaping for 1 week now and was able to throw out half a can of Drum after the first day with my first e-cig. It's a Maxi by Justfog from a local shop (have ordered an MVP 2.0 since). 20 years of at least a pack a day, many failed cold turkey attempts, patches, gum, even chantix. I wish I would have checked out vaping years ago. I have to say, I love not smoking (7 days today)and have not even considered going back to analog. By the way, how can I get one of those sweet counters that keeps track of time without tobacco?

I look forward to more reading, I just discovered the library and strongly urge anyone else new to this to read through those threads.

Again, thank you all. I look forward to tinkering with some of these gadgets and experimenting with some of these juice options, my wife dreads the effect on the checking account, but at least I can kiss her with out taking a shower and brushing my teeth!!

Zero nic is the ultimate goal, the path from here to there is looking a bit easier these days.

Hey Phil
Sounds like you are on the right track to quit

the counters are available after you have 15 posts and are located under forum actions or you can google quit smoking banners - some vendors also have them

Lots of info available here - I started DIY about 2 months in (I'm cheap - diy 200ml per month - about $6.50)

speaking of tinkering check out my MV3 (similar to your MVP) here

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...discussion/503038-tired-waiting-mp3-evic.html

I went from 24mg to 2mg nic since April

and welcome to the ECF

Despite the intention to share your knowledge, I have a feeling that new vapers won't completely grasp the complex simplicity of your creation.

Welcome aboard the vape train.

Indeed, I think most of us wish we'd gotten on sooner - but I didn't have that option 50 years ago :)

While it's all to easy to give in to the new and shiny syndrome, and while it's also true that the initial set-up costs will probably be higher than smoking, if you can resist the impulse buys and factor in the cost of chemo (or oxygen for COPD...) it's REALLY cheap.

And being able to kiss one's honey before the shower is priceless!

Weird posting in my own thread, but I gotta tell someone, and this way doesn't clog up the board. Anyway, my Mvp2 and PT2 should be here today.
Pretty stoked! My juice order from MtBaker vapor came yesterday, good stuff so far, not sure I'm a menthol fan but its good having some variety to try. I do like the higher pg to vg ratio, way better vape. Going thru a 1.6 ml tank of 18 nic per day, i haven't read what that equates to in analog, but I know its on here some where.
Still no smokes coming upon 2 weeks.
I feel a bit oily, but I've read thats pretty common, just have to wash more.
Also finding that different juice hits different, some like a slow draw with one air hole plugged, some vape better with a hard draw and full airflow. Looking forward to playing with VV/VW of the mvp to really dial in. Been lucky and have only hit a couple burnt ones, very gross.

Good going, Philotius! Two weeks and counting :)

Indeed, different flavors will taste better at different power levels, one of the big advantages of VV/VW. You can fine tune to your satisfaction, regardless of coil resistance.

Don't concern yourself with cig-equivalence. That you're NOT smoking is the big thing. And 1.6 ml a day isn't excessive by any means. If you're getting enough nic to keep you off the cigs, then you're getting enough. If you get the jitters and shakes, you're getting too much.

Slow draw will tend to enhance the experience - as long as you have the right power to the coil. Your MVP will let you take care of that. (Too hard / fast a draw can pull juice into the air tube and cause gurgles and leaks. It can also cause the burnt hits, as you're boiling it off faster than it can wick back in.)

MBV juices are mixed when you order, and some "steeping" will improve the blend. You'll probably find that the flavor improves over time. Just shake the bottle daily. And definitely shake the bottle before filling a clearo.

Congrats on your first smoke free week! Good luck on your path to 0 nic!
