Hi Everyone,
I just started vaping on Sat. I've been a Marlboro light smoker for over 25 yrs. I got a starter kit on sat. After reading all these posts I'm just totally lost on the acronyms for things...it's like totally foreign? I have a Kangertech Evod starter kit. I have like 3 flavors. I'm battling needing a real cigarette right now. I use 18 mg. I just want something to replace smoking a real cigarette. I don't need all the fancy stuff I see on here...frankly it's scary to me that all these options exist? Can anyone suggest to me what to do/expect? I can't vape all day...I work and I'm sure I can't do it there...I just want something plain and simple. From what I've read so far...this is really complicated? Does it really have to be? Help please!!
Hi and welcome. Like you I am not into tinkering or complicated stuff. I think the secret is to get the "battery style" you feel comfortable with in your hand, liquid/juice that you like the flavor of and some tanks that perform well for you. I started with the EVOD starter kit and it was plenty sufficient. I had some juice I liked. It wasn't perfectly satisfying to me, because the tanks leaked easily, I was advised to start at 18 mg (1 and a half pack a day Marlboro Red smoker). Moving up to 24 mg nic made a huge difference to me. Also, quite quickly replacing the tanks that came with the EVOD (they were nothing but trouble to me, a tinkerer's dream), this helped me too. At a couple points I bought 36 mg. nic but very seldom use it and am now looking at buying the same juice at a lower level and mixing with the 36 to make 24 which I am happy with. Only been at it a couple months now. Feeling very satisfied because I've found ONE ADV (all day vape--one you could just do all the time, a cinnamon bun flavor) and another 10 or so that I am happy to switch out with from time to time so that I don't become tired of this lovely ADV I crave. The only tinkering I do is refilling my tanks with juice, and probably every couple weeks rinsing out my tanks, and replacing the coil/wick unit. I laboriously "save and label" the old ones thinking one day I might ....MIGHT... have a need (like "not enough money for the month") to replace the wicks on them and learn how to clean and "dry burn" the coils.
I assure you, you don't have to do a lot of "complicated stuff". My current equipment, however, consists of about 6 iSmoka mega BCC tanks, another 6 iSmoka BCC minis, and 3 Kanger II glass since I like a lot of flavors that require glass. I have given up on the Kangers for now and when I start buying equip again it will probably be Davide instead. I have the mini tanks because I don't "drip" if I want to taste flavors I put the new ones in the small tanks and vape about a half a tank.
My 4 (yes 4, I enjoy having about 4 ready to go flavors with me during the day) battery units are a Twist, 2 Spinners and an iTaste SVD. And I have duplicate chargers for the batteries. To me it seems like a lot of equipment, but believe me (knock wood) so far it all has been trouble free and GREAT GREAT FUN. Good luck to you!
