ok, so totally new to vaping....got curious so i stopped by a new vaping shop that opened here where i live.... i had heard all this talk about how they were so friendly and helpful and knew their stuff..... so off i went..... ill also throw in that i know NOTHING about this stuff, only that 3 friends started it and completely stopped smoking, so i wanted to give it a whirl.... i get there, lady greeted my boyfriend and i.... showed us the starter kits they had....told us nothing about them or how they work or nothing.... tried several liquids, we picked out 3 we liked.... was told one of them could not be used in the plastic tanks that come with the starter kit, that we needed glass ones, soooo we bought 2 glass tanks as well......she did show us how to fill the tanks.... thats all... so she filled our tanks, and bagged it all up and out the door we go (spent alot more than i ever anticipated too)... with these things that we dont really know anything about.... we get home, get them out, start using them, loving the flavors we got..... i used mine the next day and put it on the charger overnight and the next day, it wont work..... really ...... me off to be honest.... soooo i had already emailed the company about how their customer service sucked and then had to email them again about a refund or exchange of some sort.... they offered me free liquid for the bad customer service and as far as the exchange... they will exchange it or repair it since it is still under the 4 WEEK warranty.... the guy that emailed me back about the exchange was different than the guy from customer service guy and let me tell ya, he sounded like an ... over email.... basically said that its stated all over the store that there are zero refunds (i understand that with the nature of the product purchased but he didnt have to be a .... about it to a new customer) well, i asked my boyfriend if he recalled seeing that and he didnt.... and i didnt either.... soooo i pull up their website and their facebook pages and i see it posted NOWHERE in any of the pics of the store.... not even in ones taken by customers and tagged on facebook.... so when i responded to his email, i politely told him that none of us recall seeing that policy anywhere in the store, nor does the website store pics reflect that signage anywhere, the sales person never mentioned it and its not even on my receipt!!! so I had my vaporizer thing for 24 hours that i got to use it before it broke.... had to go back to smoking actual cigarettes again..... and in trying to educate myself online about how these things work and the parts of it and all the differences, i cant wrap my head around any of it because its all different..... yes, im taking the unit back that doesnt work on my day off tomorrow and making them fix it and picking up my free liquid they offered me..... and unless it breaks again in the next 3 weeks while it is still under warranty, we do not plan to ever go in that store ever again..... i know, this is a rattled, jumbled first post on these forums, but i just had to get it out of my system to someone..... and also in hopes that maybe someone can break all this down for me in a vaping for really stupid idiots answer..... All I can tell you is that this is what i have....

EGO TWIST 1100 MAH FULL KIT - COLOR OPTIONS

LEADER FBC BY SMOKTECH - PYREX GLASS BOTTOM COIL CLEAROMIZER

I would post the links to the actual items, but it wont let me post links.... but you can go to mountainoakvapors . com and see them, if that helps....

Thanks in advance..... and apologies for my long, aggravated, jumbled post lol

It's been over a year since I've bought any eGo or Smoktech products. I used to go to Stormysvaporcellar.com . Not the cheapest, but if Stormy sells you a Joyetech eGo twist, then it's actually a Joyetech (American manufacturer of eGo). There is also a DiscountVapor listed on this forum under Forum Suppliers tab on your ECF taskbar.
Once you get your equipment straitened out, I would advise you to start looking for E-Liquid Vendors you like. There may be several on the ECF that will say "You need THIS Mod" or "You should have THIS Device". Ignore that. Top end mods cost $200 to $300+, each. I should know, I own seven of them. I would tell you to find the liquids you like first. Heather's Heavenly Vapes, Ahlusion. NicoTicket, Highbrow, Naturally-Extracted-Tobaccos.com and others offer a wide assortment of various flavors, PG/VG ratios, Nicotine Strength and bottle sizes to choose from.
Good Luck to You (and your boyfriend). I smoked tobacco products for 40 years+, and I quit in two days by Vaping. Don't give up or get discouraged, just Vape On ! :)

Hello :) Sorry you're having this experience. Take your battery back and get a new one. As far as the tank...I've never used that one. You can get 5 posts under your belt and maybe check out the clearomizers subforum here. Clearomizers I've spaced out and left my eGos on the charger overnight, and never had one die from it. Most of them have a five click on/off feature. You might want to try that and see if anything happens. Charging overnight isn't a good idea. It's a common topic brought up to the new members of the forum. Including myself when I started :) Try to charge during the day so you can keep an eye on your equipment just in case. Hopefully things will get easier for you, and you can get your equipment going.

LOL...Wow....& Welcome :)
Sad to hear your first experience was not so great but don't let that discourage either of you from making the switch.
After the first couple purchases, most people tend to do the bulk of their shopping online so b&m's should make more of an effort in customer service.
Respect the batteries-they're relatively safe but when/if they blow they can do some damage-so charge under supervision & don't charge it on your computer-if they go bad they can destroy your PC.

As Roseb stated you might try pushing the fire button 5 times quickly in a row, the button will probably light up after you do if it turns it on. try it then.

Here is a link to an ego twist manual, maybe this will help. I haven't even looked at it but can't hurt. if you have more questions please feel free to ask. Also, comparing yours to your boyfriends, push the button does it light up on either? being an ego twist there is a small switch at the bottom to change voltage could you possibly be in between two of the settings. let me know if you can.

I'm new to all of this too. I began vaping with gear I ordered online. But a new B & M opened up near me and I went to check it out. Honestly, I think some of these places are popping up so fast and they really aren't staffed with folks who are knowledgeable about their products. I mean I'm still a newbie and had questions for them about this and that; stuff that I've picked up along the way (mostly from here) and they looked at me like I had lobsters crawling out of my ears! I'd hate to say it but I imagine I'll use a B & M to try out stuff, but that's probably it.

Welcome & congrats on trying out vaping & taking first steps to quitting!
I'm sorry about ur 1st experience too! Good customer service is unfortunately the exception to the norm in any business these days! You are def in the right place here though & will find all the help & support u need! As well as recommendations for online places w/ great customer service. (I can personally attest to Nicoticket.com's quality & exceptional service)
Now, for ur problem...what exactly happened or isn't happening? Is the battery not firing or button not lighting up when u press it after charging? Or is the battery firing but ur just not getting any vapor?
I understand that the shop will be fixing/replacing it for u but was just trying to determine problem to see if its even a problem at all, to help figure out where the problem is, and possibly to help u fix it urself in case it ever happens again.
I know it can be a bit overwhelming at first, but the good news is that once u get vaping a while u'll see that actual failires of equipment aren't all that common and other issues are relatively easily fixed! :)
Good luck & vape on!!

Thanks for the support guys... this is what happened Thursday morning when i tried to use it... took off charge, screwed in tank, went to push button the 5 times to turn on.... and it blinked approx 15 times in a row.... sooo i turned off and tried again, same result... just now, i got it back out (i had put it in its case so i didnt have to look at it and get mad again) and i screw tank on, push button and it still blinks approx 15 times.... the blinks are rather quick so i counted the best i could....

ok, took tank off, pushed button and it blinks the same way .... and i tried to see if the little adjustable thing on the end might be stuck between 2 numbers so i turned it all the way to one direction and the other and still blinked the same way... i dont see any mark that im supposed to line up the numbers on to know what number im actually on.... so i figured all the way one direction and the other would suffice that i wasnt in between numbers and that wasnt the issue...

I'm worried that the battery connector got shorted out from screwing down too tight on the battery.

The correct charger for the ego twist, and many other ego type batteries is the one that says 420 mA on it. It also says 4.2 V.
Input 5 V;
Output 4.2V, 420 mA.

If there is a short on the head, then it will not charge.

The center pin might be pressed in, and can be raised carefully using a toothpick;

If liquid gets down into the battery, it could also mess up the electronics.

Please be carefull with the battery. They store alot of energy.
