my husband and i just recently started vaping. trying to at least slow down on the smokes. we originally had egos but they just werent quite doing it for us. so we upgraded. we both go eleaf istick 30w. he got a kangertech subtank mini and i got the nano. we LOVE them. but i have heard that drippers produce more vape and a better taste. thats great but we dont want the hassal of carrying the liquid and the device and having to drip all the time. someone i work with just told me about drip tanks. we were at work so i didnt get the chance to talk much with her. i would like to understand it more and get some advise on some good ones. she told me about 2. 1 she says is artic and the other she says is like viking but not quite...not sure really... but everything i find online says yep its a drip tank and this is how much it costs. i would like to know how they work. is it really a tank that i can take on the go? and not have to refill every 5 puffs? just wanna understand if this is something my husband and i should pursue.

please help.

The Arctic subΩ tank holds 2.5mls just like the Subtank Mini. You can get stock coils for it.

The Viking RDA is a rebuildable dripper (not a tank). You have to build your own coils and it only holds as much juice as the cotton wick will hold. So you would need to carry around a juice bottle and drip juice into it more often than having a tank.

That's what I know about these two devises.

If you have a Kanger mini and nano that is about as good as it gets for what you have and I totally kicked cigs with the same tanks and coils (Kbox mod). Dunno if the extra 10 watts will do it for you but I say for $22.00 a Kbox with that extra 10 watts is the cheapest experiment to take and use your .5 ohm coils.

I'm not ready to deal with dripping yet and a 7ML Subtank Plus a.k.a. "the weekend tank" is a perfect fit on the Kbox although what you have is perfect for testing. Don't get wrapped up in "variable". The Kbox uses direct current to tap the coil at presets and you will get to experience a direct current 25,30,35 and 40 watt hit.

Give it a try, prices are dirt, they are reliable. Yes, I am a fan. :)

if you want a dripper you dont have to refill and get good flavor a bottom feeder would be the way to go if you dont want to drip ever few hits but now days the tanks like the one i use $10.30 Orchid V3 Styled Rebuildable Tank Atomizer - 2.5-3.0ml / stainless steel + PC tank at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
with a cotton wick taste the same as a dripper and just as much smoke i build mine dual coil macro coil at .8 ohms
Kanthal A-1 100ft Spool 28 g Kanthal A-1 100ft Spool - Kidney Puncher
cvs organic cotton boil before using and let dry

if you dont want to build tanks then here are a few great tanks that taste great and dont use wicks
best one out really is
$21.95 Authentic Aspire Nautilus BVC Clearomizer (5.0ml) - 1.6ohm / stainless steel + glass at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
if you need the smaller one the mini
$21.96 Authentic Aspire Nautilus Mini BVC Clearomizer - 2.0ml / 1.8ohm at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

this tank here is almost the same thing and alot cheaper great tank to great flavor and vapor production
$9.58 Authentic KangerTech GeniTank Bottom Dual Coil BDC Clearomizer - 2.4ml / 1.8ohm at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

$6.52 Authentic KangerTech GeniTank Mini Bottom Dual Coil Clearomizer - 1.3ml / 1.5ohm at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
them are the best pre build tanks out right now and taste great no wick so no wick taste at all

and the vapor you blow out also depens on the juice you use the more vg the more smoke the more pg less smoke harder throat hit.

i use fasttech all the time its a great site i would not link it if i didnt use it. and you can save alot of money. only con is it takes about 3 -4 weeks to get the item in the usa because of customs but still worth the wait when your getting 50 dollar tanks for 7 buck and 21 bucks .

Hi, Jessie, and welcome! It sounds as though you are wanting to get more flavor from your set up. Is that right? The Subtank Mini (and Nano) are not RDAs - "Rebuildable Dripping Attomizers." The mini is an RBA; the Nano can't be built - it doesn't have a rebuildable deck. However, they are great tanks! You mentioned that you are new to vaping. One thing to remember is that smoking trashes your taste buds; it can take awhile to get your sense of taste back, fully. When I started vaping, everything tasted kind of muted ... It was 4 months before juice was really flavorful. I did find that higher heat (more watts) helped, somewhat. So did lower ohm coils. You might try the .5 ohm coils in your Subtank, if you haven't already.

thats another thing im trying to figure out. i use .5 but im using the istick 30w. is there a minimum wattage i should have it set at. dont want to ruin my tank or my battery.
Kanger recommends the 0.5 ohm coils be set at 15 to 30 watts. Try adjusting everything in that range with your iStick. When the flavor is perfect that is the sweet spot for you with that liquid. It's all about what is good for you. Your iStick can handle it with no problems. You will have to recharge more often the higher you go in watts. So you have a trade off, flavor vs recharge. For me flavor wins!

Hi jessieburt.

There Isn't any Minimum Wattage on any type of Atomizer. Meaning you can set your iStick as low as it will go and you won't hurt Either the Atomizer or your iStick.

I run the .5 Ohm OCC heads at about 12 Watts. But tend to run Everything at Lower Watts than Many People.

BTW - If you are looking for More Vapor. The Easiest way is to use an e-Liquid with Higher VG in it.

BTW2 - Congratulation on your Switch e-Cigarettes. Many have used them "just to cut down". Only to find that they had Quit Smoking Completely in a Month or Two.

well we decided to get a couple drippers today. my boss gave us a bag full flavors. we went to a local shot and picked up a couple old drippers for $5 a piece. not bad huh. so far we are very happy. have already tried like 5 flavors. we were putting them on our isticks but they were getting too hot so we got a kbox. love it!!we will probably upgrade the drippers later but these are great for now.
