Totally Wicked - Odyssey VV

Hey!

I am looking into an entirely new e-cog unit, as I am having little to no luck with the Kangertech products I have been using lately  the consistency is not the best. I have been looking into the Odyssey VV by Totally Wicked. I have purchased their products in the past and have better luck with them than with other companies/products.

Anyone that has or is currently using the Odyssey VV - what are your views on it? and do you like it?

Any help would be great!

Most TW stuff is just re-branded joyetech. So a search for information should include the Joye equivalent.
For the price of the device, I would expect a bit...more.

Good luck

I received mine a couple of weeks ago and I think its pretty good. Very easy to use, a 3400mah lasts me days and its rated to 25w but people have gone to 28w with them with the right coil. They go pretty low ohm. Sadly in the only proper review of it Ive seen the guys make it look difficult to use because they were using the encoder ring incorrectly, its much simpler than what they were trying to do. No leaks or flooding let from Odyssey tank either.
Style wise I was a bit worried about the comments Ide be getting when I went out to town but it turns out its a great conversation starter and every chick I talked to wanted to try it out so its not all bad. Its a bit large to pocket in jeans but I bought a small pouch that goes on my belt to fit all the .... in. Can't wait to try out some other tanks on it and my own coils in the oddy tank.

oh and don't forget the 5 year warranty!

* UPDATE *

Since first posting this, I have bought the Odyssey VV and have been using it for a little over 2 weeks now.

I love the design and durability/ruggedness of it. The battery is superb and if fully charged at night, lasts me all day. Everything this unit's design, I have found to my liking.

HOWEVER,

I have had the worst time with these RCS atomizers designed for use with this unit. The problems have been endless. First, I was getting a very little draw and throat hit, regardless of what kind of liquid was in there, how charged the battery was, the voltage and various other aspects that would affect that. I tried it all. I would then switch out the atomizer and put a brand new one in there. The problem would go away and I would get a decent draw and throat hit.. temporarily. Not long after that, and always the same day, it would go back to being the way it was. It got to the point where I was convinced that I had to be doing something wrong. I did much research and was able to confirm with myself that I was doing everything correctly.

Then out of nowhere, I began have a leaking problem.. something I had not encountered before with this unit. Again and as usual, I would troubleshoot it, and as a last resort, put yet another new atomizer in there.. This problem has been on and off since I bought this. I have spoken with TW's customer service and they informed me to try doing certain things such as letting the atomizer soak with the liquid for twenty minutes before vaping it for the first time.. Something I had already been doing anyways. These atomizers are ready to go out of the box and do not need to be completely pre-primed like most cartomizers do; but it is always a good idea to make sure your atomizer is completely "wet" regardless.

This is just a handful of the problems I have had.. most, if not all of which, I completely relate the problem to being with the atomizers.. not the body/battery of the unit.

I am starting to run out of options here and as a last-ditch effort, bought the Bogo Cartomizers, which many people rave about using. I will prime these and give these a shot to see if they make a huge difference compared to these RCS atomizers or not..

Has anyone else encountered these problems? ..and if so, any advice that I may have not come across?

I just want this device to be consistent and reliable and I feel that is has the potential to do so.. just having no luck with these atomizers.

ALSO..I am completely unable to vape past approx. 3.7 volts with these atomizers or I will for sure get a burnt taste.. Which is unusual because these are rated as 2.2-2.4 ohm.. :/

Sorry to hear about your problems. I have had none with mine yet touch wood. Vaped on one atomizer for about 1 1/2 weeks and only swapped it out when I changed from a tobacco juice to some of the fruit juices I have. I washed the atomizer and it still looks brand new!

Regarding the voltage, I found then when I was using the TW Red Label tobaccos I couldnt go past the lowest green setting without it starting to taste a bit burnt. But when I switched to the juice flavours I can now vape at 4.2v (highest green) and it absolutely awesome. I haven't mucked around with the red range yet. One other thing I have found is that starting each draw by sucking fairly hard seems to be the best way to get decent flavour out it. When I was using the tobacco juice I think I may have been starting each draw too loosely (smoking it like an analog) and not bringing enough juice up into the wick.

I haven't tried the stock battery or charger yet but Im glad to hear it works well. I am using a Panasonic NCR 18650 B because 3400mah :D

Being a member of the tw forum i was intrested in the vv oddy as the build quality and 5year warranty is unheard of on any pv,but even with the daily discount codes it still comes out at about £100 for the kit, until they sell the mod on its own i passed and bought a sigeli v3 at £40 and its great, that said when the vv/oddy is available on its own i will buy it if the price is right!

UPDATE

I just primed and put on my cartomizer to the Odyssey. I am much more pleased so far! I am able to up the voltage without any burnt taste and I am having zero issues with leakage thus far. The throat hit and draw in general has remained consistent also. If this holds true, then I may very well start using the cartomizers and ditch the atomizers for now :)

Ill tell you a secret. The prices on TW's stuff are a fair bit cheaper on the American website. I saved about $150 Australian ordering from the states as opposed to the UK website.

Don't buy it!! it has a design fault where a part that screws in to the body gets stuck so the unit is useless, the manual is park (spell it backwoulds) when you phone them up you will get told to look at youtube videos. I have been using Sky-Cigs over the pass 10 months and I am looking for something that does not look like a Cig:

Welcome David. Maybe you should start your own thread. If you've been on skycigs for 10 months, maybe an upgrade would make sense, for cost and performance.

Do you know of MYEPACK? Anything on there would be a) good and b) cheaper long-term than skycig.

Alternatively, ask on AAEC UK.
