Koolada will give you that "something cold in my mouth" taste... and you might be surprised at the recipes that will take kindly to it.

funny (or not so funny) story... I have been working on a root beer float... mixing up several 5mls of my starting recipe, then adding this or that to see how it works... added toooooo much koolada to one of the 5mls.

I also tend to mix juices in my tank. I had been mixing a twinkie and a blueberry, and grabbed the wrong bottle - got the heavy koolada root beer instead of twinkie. Was a shock at first, but hey, it wasn't bad. lol. Not sure I'd mix something like that on purpose (root beer & blueberry??), but it did have me thinking about where else I could use that koolada.... it seemed like the koolada might work with some blueberry recipes and I wouldn't have EVER thought to do that.

koolada isn't really supposed to have much taste when you use it right, but when I used too much I got sort of a ... spearmint? taste. It was nice.

I know nothing of crystal menthol...

Have any of you got a DIY Banana Strawberry recipe ? I picked up some TFA Ripe Strawberry and Ripe Banana,but can't seem to get the percentages right?

Anything with a little Crème De Menthe from TFA should do the trick for you... It is very strong so I suggest 3 drops or less per 30 ml. I have a really sensitive taste preference since the most of any flavor I put in any of my mixes is 4.5%. They are mainly 3% or lower.

Try 3% Strawberry and 1-2% Ripe banana along with .25% sweetener or maybe .5-1% Cotton candy although I haven't used ripe banana yet, that is based on Banana cream

The Ripe Banana seems to "over power" the Strawberry, I hardly go above 5% on my flavorings.

The Ripe Banana is really strong compared to the Banana Cream. Let us know how it comes out!

I was at a gathering a few months ago,and a guy had some juice made up he called Strawnana. He wrote the recipe on a card for me,and guess who lost it before I got back home! It taste like a Strawberry Banana Smoothie,man it was good!

Here's the current version of my Creme De Menthol (one of my ADVs)
All TFA flavors
10% Creme de Menthe
10% Whipped Cream
2% Koolada
2% Menthol
2% Sweetener

The Ripe Banana is really strong compared to the Banana Cream. Let us know how it comes out!

OK, back and mixed up. Although you get the chemically taste right after mixing, I taste the Strawberry more on inhale with more Banana flavor exhale. Keep in mind Strawberry Ripe tastes more like a fresh picked strawberry with an ever so slightly hint of the leafy stem to me anyway. Taking a sample taste of the juice, just a drop on the back side of your hand and lick it off, I taste the strawberry and banana equally. I cant wait for the 24 hr mark let alone the 2-3 day steep with it. The recipe I used is a 30 pg 70 vg blend @ 6 mg. Banana Cream @ 1.5%, Circus Cotton Candy @ .5%, and Strawberry Ripe @ 3%.

Also, you need to keep in mind that I am doing this on the Mutation X v3 with a dual twisted 26 guage sitting @ .3 ohm and vaping at 35 watts with the airflow wide open. Anything different from that, you will get a variation of flavor as all of them factor in with flavor (airflow, coil, and temp).

I'll try it on my VF with my nickel build in my Velocity RDA @ 0.15 ohms.

I got a 10 ml batch made up this morning,used you percentages,and (to me) it was kinda weak on flavor! So I raised the percentages up to,4% Ripe Strawberry,2% Ripe Banana,and 1% Cotton Candy. I also mixed the base at 50/50 so I could get a fast steep with the ultrasonic,I'm impatient! LOL!
