Hey all . I've been making lemonade for a friend. She asked if I can make I sour. I have sour additive. Any suggestions on a % to start with? Thank you

I have tried and tried to get good effect from TFA Sour, LA Tart and Sour, and the various acids like Nude Nic has. They all make a liquid that smells right, but I never get the sour taste when I vape it. Even with 10% TFA Sour, it changes the fruit flavors to me, but it's just not tart. I gave up at 10%, figured it would take at least twice that, and I don't want to vape that much flavoring.

I've always wondered if anyone gets Sour to work right, curious what other replies you get.

As far as the whole "creamy/Latte" flavor situation, do these creams tend to like steeping time outside the ultrasonic? It seems like some of the creams I have been playing with and left sitting on my desk are seeming to open up more over the week. Perhaps it is the fruits mellowing out, not sure.

have you tried TFA Sweet Cream? I'm curious because I use that all the time... to smooth out fruit flavors. Haven't tried it in anything else but my experience with it tells me it should be great in bakery or coffee flavors...

If I go with around 6 to 8% its creamy. If i go high (10% +) still creamy but it makes a cafe like flavor; almost like a latte even alone.

I have been. I left some strawberry and orange cream mixes I used the sweet cream in to chill out for a while. The cream seemed to wake up after a period of time. But I think I'd like to use some vanilla bean with it to wake it up.

My percentages were lower than what you suggested, though (~2-3%), so I might try to bump it up a bit. Thanks!

I've been using Bavarian Cream (at about 2-4%) lately — I find the Sweet Cream has a bit of a funky taste...

I just ordered some about an hour ago. I'll give it a try.

Thanks for the info HIC. I've never vaped a sour flavor so I have nothing to compare.

I was also wondering what I can do to round out strawberry. I have made a mix of strawberry- 15%, Sweet Cream - 3%, and Vanilla Bean - 2%. It has about 1.5 hrs in the ultrasonic (15 minutes on, shake and sit for 15 minutes, then repeat), and has been sitting for about 5 days. It is tasty, but IMO the strawberry seems to have a chemical edge to it. I want to smooth it out a bit.

I am using a 50/50 PG/VG base @ 6mg.

Probably too much Strawberry. Any particular flavor may be good, but just give it two or three percentage amounts too much and its instant "Chemical taste". Time to throw it out and re group. I would try the Strawberry at 10% and see if that does the trick.

This was next on my list to make. Did you use plain "Apple Flavor"? I have a lot of Green Apple I'd love to use.

Yes, I just used plain old Apple.

You know, this is somewhat similar to another great juice, "Red Vs Blue" as far as three fruits or berries and all arounf the 6% range (give or take 2%)

As soon as I saw it posted, I knew that it would be good.

I can see bringing the Apple up to the Peach level and bringing the Peach down to the Apple, Or Ramping up the Strawberry and bringing down what ever you feel like to get a handfull of good juices out of this one........and even changing out fruits/berries.

I would make up a 10 batch with that Green apple if I were you....... or make two 5ml batches, one the way the recipie is posted and one with Green apple at 8% and the Peach down 6% to what the apple was suppose to be.

Get bored with that and make the Strawberry the 8% flavor.

This is what makes DIY so fun to me.

I have a recipe that kills coils rapidly, like in a day or two.

My microcoil wicked with cotton on a Kayfun 3.1 looked like a charcoal briquette. I pulled the wick and dry burned it and some of it still wouldn't go away. I had to scrape it off with a screwdriver.

The ingredients are:
  • TFA Horchata
  • TFA Butter Rum
  • TFA French Vanilla
  • TFA Caramel Cappuccino
  • TFA Vannillin
  • TFA Sweetener
  • TFA Smooth
Anybody have any idea which one or ones would be the culprit?

Most likely the Caramel Capp, it stays forever, have to replace the wick and dryburn the coil to get rid of the flavor in my dripper.
Generally, the darker the flavoring, the worse it gets...

Worked like a charm. I dropped it to 10% and worked it to 12%, which was too much. Stepping back to 11% was where I decided to stick. Many thanks, friend.
