TPA/TFA Sweetener

I received 2 bottles of sweetener in my order. One bottle has particles in it, the other doesn't. I figured that the non-particle one would be better. Upon opening the bottle, I smelled a slight cheesy smell. Once I took a large whiff I realized that the sweetener smells like toe cheese.

The sweetener with the particles in it smells nice. Its a sweet, slightly vanilla scent.

So...what are the particles, and whats up with the cheesiness? Are either usable?

Sweet cream has that cheesy smell. Did they send you the wrong item maybe?

perhaps. as a matter of fact, i ordered 1 sweetener and 1 sweet cream (in addition to a bunch of others). instead of 1 and 1, I got 2 sweeteners. at least thats what the labels say.

i called and spoke with a nice lady over the phone. she said that the sweetener and sweet cream are right next to each other and that must have been the mistake. im wondering if the employee pulled from the right bin and the label is incorrect.

is sweetener supposed to have tiny particles, while sweet cream does not? they are both clear in color.

neither of mine do, not the sweetener or the sweet cream. both are crystal clear.

Linda's great, I emailed her once and she called me like 10 minutes later
talked me through and sent me replacements.

she told me its pretty uncommon to bottle it incorrectly, because they produce it in large batches, and bottle them by batch
which makes sense

You will probably find that those are Ethyl Maltol crystals in a saturated solution. A good shake or a little bit of heat should dissolve them .

i did shake it, but the bottle is so full i can hardly get a good shake going on. im not worried. ethyl maltol is fine by me.

and its good to hear that the cheesy smell isnt a red flag. i guess ill use it. after my sweet smelling sweetener runs out, that is.
