TPA's DK Tobacco Base

I hate the smell, it smells like apples.

Has anyone found a good recipe for this flavor? It's so strong that it dominated the mixes I made with it, and you can't really use it at 10% or more where the flavor would even be tasted. 4 drops in a mix and it reeked up my whole house. Right now I got the flavor in a plastic bag because it smelled so strongly that I was getting whiffs of it in bed 3 (BIG) rooms over. This smell haunts my dreams and like an idiot I got the 1oz big bottle because people were raving about it in the reviews about how it's their all day vape. Is there anything I can do with it other than douse myself with it as a people repellent?

i like to mix it @ 5% & virginia fire cured @ 2.5 % then let it breath for about a week that is an all day vape for me. or mix @ 10% & let breath for a week

There is a member here Hoosier who is good with having tried almost all the tobaccos and has some blogs. There is also a TPA huge thread with people on it who may have posted similar questions or have more info on the flavor.

If it smells that badly to you (I had one like that-- not this one ) it might not be one to keep. Sorry I know its not funny but I had to smile at your description. We all have some of those moments in this DIY adventure.

Oh by all means laugh it up. I'm just an idiot for getting a big bottle of that by trusting the reviews on that site alone. Never trust a review page that has only good things on it. Nothing is that perfect in this world. People love chocolate bars but if I put a review page of it up there's going to be someone who hates chocolate even though it's awesome right? This isn't just me. I haven't heard of anyone so far who from day 1 mixes this DK by itself and loves it without at least steeping it for a week. You go on TPA and all you read is it's strong and it's a couple people's all day vape...

ShogaNinja- I had bought a 30ml bottle as well. My first response was shock and nausea as I reached into the mailbox. I retrieved my package. I found the odor overwhelming. I hid the bottle in a basement closet for a week. I tried it in a recipe once. Never again. However, months later I cannot detect a odor to this. I don't dare open the bottle. It sits next to my other non-usable flavorings.

What do u guys mean by let it breath ?? Like steeping it for a week with the bottle open ?? Also if it is so overwhelming , why arent u using it at 2 or 3% ?? I have a bottle of it coming btw

I added a few drops of butterscotch to my mix/recipe and it made a world of difference. Also, I only mix tobacco flavors at 1 or 2%.

I have this flavor and mixed at 10% with some menthol and all I can say OMFG way to much I could see 1-4% maybe, it is a very potent flavor.

I have DK flavoring from Blue Mist and it smells nice. It has a mild, nutty scent that is not overpowering at all. I haven't tried the TPA.

yeah it's strong it reminds me of bwb 555 I mixed it with caramel and FA mixed nuts it's not bad it's not one of my everyday vapes but for a once in a while it's OK

If you are talking about the flavorers apprentice dk/a.k.a. 555 base... the one I ordered from wizard a couple weeks ago is fine. It has a nutty overtone. Maybe the one you got was bad or mislabled? Ive mixes this at both 3% and 5% thus far. Less is more tho as with most tobaccos ive tried thus far.

ive used it, i dilute it down in alcohol or pg, 4 drops, to every 5 ml. i then let it sit for a few days. When making a mix i tend to stick to 2-3% depending what else i mix it with. some times with 1% of vz vagina. or 1% of tobacco absolute diluted the same way. Make sure you let it steep for a while then should be good to go. Im still playing around with this, its by no means perfect. good luck
