tracking Numbers and the Us Postal Service

this is for those of you have orders that appear to be sitting at the Post Office (or the same one for days). On most of my orders (from different sellers) the tracking service was not updated in a timely manner, three times, it showed that my package was sitting in Portland, OR (about 180 miles away) when in actuality it had been delivered to my mailbox. So don't give up hope, it's not customs or your bad luck, it's the postal service once again being efficient.

the USPS tracking is almost worthless. The only real thing it's good for is to see that the PO actually got the package. After that, You might as well not even check that site IMO/

EMS is another worthless tracking system. My order from eastmall shipped last Saturday and the tracking still has "no information on this shipment".

moving to general but i do agree with the tracking line and not updated frequently enough by the services.

things we ship to the US via USPS update twice.. when they arrive in NY.. quite reliable this one.. the next time is when the a delivery attempt is made..

there is never any update between these two points.. we call it the USPS black hole.. where the item is its impossible to tell.. the black hole can last anything between 2 to 20 days.. things always pop out of the black hole.. but how long they spend in there is anybodies guess..

Niether EMS or USPS gives updates.
EMS details are very sketchy. If fact all you know is that it has been shipped. Then it goes to USPS where it tells you it is in customs and when it's made it through. Sometimes this takes longer than other times.
The next thing, it's at my doorstep.
