Hey all...
Thought I'd share this with the group... We've been tracking our atomizers for a couple of months now... we have an atomizers page on our personal wiki but you could use notepad or even paper.
The idea is to know how many working atomizers you have, how well they work, ohms, what flavors they've had etc etc.
We used a fine tip paint marker and numbered our atomizers... we used white but you can use a color that matches your atty so that it isn't noticeable unless you are looking for it. Write it as small as you can. We put the number on each side of the atomizer so that if one rubs off the other is still there... I've come back and touched up the numbers on a couple of them but for the most part the paint stays on.
Here's how our list looks:
* 1 - tobacco flavors - seemed to weaken after water rinse - removed wick and bridge... cool - still not so great as of 5/3/2010
* 2 - tw gold band - usa mix/menthol - removed wick - very good as of as of 5/3/2010 ... switched tobacco and back to menthol now both as of 5/15/2010 back to tobac.. still vaping good 5/25
* 3 - black no band - fruit - very good as of 5/4/2010 - removed bridge and wick 5/15 - still vaping fruit and works great as of 5/25
* 4 - recovered - good as of 5/1/2010 - 2.5 ohms as of 5/25
* 5 - recovered - very good as of 5/1/2010 - 3.2 ohm as of 5/25
* 6 - black no band - Amanda's ry4/fruit - good as of 5/1/2010 - weak as of 5/27 need to measure
* 7 - recovered - ry4 - weak - decent on 5v - removed wick 5/3/2010 - 2.5 ohm as of 5/25
* 8 - silver w/ gold band - Amanda's ry4/usa - very good as of 5/1/2010 - dead burnt up by stuck battery on 5/26 - remove from list
* 9 - opened 5/2/2010 - tobacco flavs ... switched to menthol as of 5/10/2010... cloggy from the beginning still cloggy and vaping menthol on 5/25 - weak already?
A huge improvement over "is this one still good? I hope so...". This method is absolutely useful if you rotate your atomizers or open new attys to try new liquids.
Definitely do this... a few notes jotted down about our hardware has made vaping an even more enjoyable experience than it already was.
Best, Chris Brown
