Buying clones is a crap shoot. I bought a Tobeco kayfun clone and had the opposite problem of yours. It had two channels, but they were too shallow. Didn't even work with 100% PG. Couldn't keep the wick wet. I bought the real deal at Vape Rev last week when their 2nd shipment came in and it's the best thing since sliced bread!
I just ordered my 2nd polished Russian 91% from VaporDNA. It's a limited production run and they still had them in stock this morning. After using my first one since yesterday, I had to order another one. Love this thing! Sorry for the upside down pic, I can't figure out how to rotate it. Here it is on my Astro clone.
Looks from the threading you've shown that it was perhaps from FastTech?
I have an HCigar Kayfun 3.1 ES and it rocks! The fit, finish and machining are top-notch. I am extremely impressed and pleased with mine.
Too bad you had issues with your clone. I hope you're happy with your purchase when you get it. However you could have bought 3 HCigar Kayfun 3.1 ES clones for the nearly the same price.
Here is another thing I didn't like about the clone ... Look how poorly machined the threads are on it:
The problem with buying these clones is ... you just never know what your going to get.
But, the Chinese can in fact make good threads ... Look how nice the threads look on the center post, even when highly magnified. Nothing at all resembling the poor quality of the threads on the base.
Wow! Those threads look like total $&^!
I just received my first kfl+ clone in the mail the other day, and if mine looked anything like that I would have contacted the seller and demanded a refund, or a replacement. Somehow I got lucky and mine is working perfectly!
