Loose batteries cannot be in your checked luggage, but you should be able to carry them in your carry-on or stored in proper cases/boxes in checked luggage. Carry-on liquids must go in your clear bag for liquids (see the TSA guidelines for regs). The official stated TSA policy is to allow e-cigs through security, while their use is forbidden in-flight you can still carry them with you and shouldn't have any problems. If any questions arise during screening, just explain what it is and you'll be fine. I haven't heard of many cases in the US or UK where any issues occurred recently.

For international travel, make sure your destination country allows e-cigs and/or nicotine liquids, though there are only a handful I can think of that could be problematic

I have personal experience of New Zealand to Singapore where I went into Sing with an Ego T in my pocket and the rest of my stuff in the carry on luggage. Got out of NZ with no problems at security checks and walked through green at Sing without problems.
The problem occurred when coming back from Malaysia overland through the causeway, when the I stupidly put an Ego T into the tray to go through the scanner. Disaster, I am a criminal, and lost most of what I had. No fines, but a bad experience, and I lost some gear.
Be careful with Singapore.

I travel everywhere in the US, with it, and vape all the way to the gate - of course I hold the vapor in, so nothing comes out.... but nonetheless, I do it. Never had a problem. My kit goes with me in my purse.
I went to Brazil a few weeks ago where there is a country-wide ban. I vaped everywhere, including, again, all the way to the gate. Not proud to say, I vaped in the plane too, all the way from Miami to Brazil LOL. The lights were off, and of course, again, I was holding the vapor in, so nothing was coming out (100% PG) (I am not advising anyone to do that.... but well.... I did it)
My hand bag went through all x-rays machines, in several airports, several times inside Brasil. I vaped in malls, restaurants, on the beach, everywhere. Not a problem.
Not once I had problems with security - I travel about once a week, round trip ;)
I gotta say, before I went (to Brazil) I was really really afraid..... until I had a chat with a pilot who was next to me in in my flight from Dallas to Miami - let's say I got a little more courageous after that talk :2cool:
