Anyone ever had any trouble traveling out of the country with their vape equipment? I'm leaving for mexico Sat morning and wont return for a week but plan on taking batteries, charger, like 100ml of juice just in case and of course building materials.. I'm just curious to hear peoples experiences or advice as to how to do it without causing a ruckus

Hi,

I took mine to Tanzania 3 weeks ago to climb Kilimanjaro and passed through Nairobi airport.

I took 5 batteries, some juice and a few spares and had no problems at all. I wasn't asked a single question about it.

I got a lot of attention from curious porters on the mountain though.

Did you pack it in your carry on or under the plane?

Put your REO in the tray and have your juice in a quart zip-lock bag in the tray. Your batteries should be in your carry-on. I have traveled to several countries, including Mexico in the last 3 years. They have seen REOs, they have a database of mods. The only time I had an issue was in an Caribbean country and all they did was tell me to "make it work."

EDIT: I think it's illegal for our type of batteries to be in checked luggage, they must be in carry-on.

Great info and advice! Thanks a ton, now I just have to find out how much juice I can carry on and put the rest in my luggage hehe

Don't know whether the electricity in Mejico es 50 Hz o 60 Hz, maybe it would make a difference on your batt. chargers. Someone here probably knows. Just a thought that I thought I thought, I think?

Buen Viaje!

Good thinking will have to try to figure that out ><

Mexico electricity:

The electrical system in Mexico is 110 volts AC (60 cycles), as in the United States and Canada. In reality, however, it may cycle more slowly and overheat your appliances. To compensate, select a medium or low speed on hair dryers. Many older hotels still have electrical outlets for flat two-prong plugs; you'll need an adapter for any plug with an enlarged end on one prong or with three prongs. Adapters are available in most Mexican electronics stores. Many better hotels have three-hole outlets (trifásicos in Spanish). Those that don't may loan adapters, but to be sure, it's always better to carry your own.

Good stuff! Thanks for posting that for me and us. I knew it was still 110v but to see all of this info is definitely reassuring.

My wife laughed at me when instead of making sure all my clothes was packed last night, I made a checklist of vape supplies first to make sure I wouldn't forget any lol.

Sounds like the ad for "the most interesting man in the world"! :) Stay vaping my friends.

I've flown form US to Canada with my REO without issue. I had the REO in my pocket the whole time (except when I went through the scanner, just put it in the bins like your wallet/phone), spare batts and juice in my carry on. The only issue I had was with my wire cutters and needlenose pliers but they let me have them on my carry on after a quick chat with the supervisor.

Very important: Take your juice bottle out of the REO and unscrew the cap w/ the tube and replace it with a normal sealed cap. If you leave the juice bottle connected you will have a very messy lap/bag/pocket. At altitude the pressure change will auto-feed all of the juice out. I think just unscrewing the cap to let the pressure out will work as well but then you have to worry about not tipping it over.

mexico may not be an issue, but you never know.....

was there in january, had no issues.......

no matter where you're travelling, what i suggest......

keep two sets of liquids and hardware.............. one in carry on, one in luggage..........

also, before you go, use the internet here at home to locate a vape store near to where you are going.......

funny thing eh........ they will confiscate at the border, but yet, they sell them 'in' country.....

re electricity in mexico... like I said, was there in january......... all my stuff worked just fine.... laptop and charger, cell phone charger, etc.........

Sound advice! Thanks I totally forgot about the bottle I would be carrying in it haha. Got everything else packed though, would it be better to put pliers and cutters in my packed luggage?
